Jennifer W Medford Lakes , NJ October 23, 2015 Appliance: Jenn-Air Self Cleaning Slide-In Downdraft Electric Range S160-C Jennair downdraft/inner glass had shattered I ordered a Window Pac and a new oven door seal for this project. Our oven is 25+ years old and still works...I wasn't sure how easy or hard this would be, so initially I delayed ordering these parts for three weeks! I read up on 'how to' approach taking the door apart...and once I put two large nails in each hole on the door hinge, I was confident I could do this. As another reviewer wrote, the only tool you need is a phillips head screwdriver. I wore my headlamp flashlight so I could easily see what I was doing. I was careful to keep all the screws for the door separate from the inner assemblyscrews. I vacuumed all the shattered glass, cleaned the inner door panel, replaced the parts and screwed it all back together. I did this by myself and honestly it would have been helpful to have an extra set of hands to keep the door 'innards' in place, but I was able to do it. I was carefult to really look at which way the window pac should face....one side has an insulation cord that needs to face towards the inside of the oven. I was told the delivery would take 2-5 business days....the boxes where delivered to my home THE NEXT DAY! Also, this company has the best prices on these replacement parts. I am very satisfied overall, both in this company, and in my ability to do this repair. It amazes me how well this oven was made....I don't even want to think about what the eventual replacement will be like! PS....you should all know I did this without the help of my husband, so ladies, you can do this too! Bruce D Gaithersburg , MD February 25, 2017 Oven door glass broken There are 4 levels that need to be removed. The first is the hardest of getting the outer shell off that has 20 years of cooking residue on it. Each layer has obvious screws or nuts that need to come off. A phillips, torx, and nut driver are needed. This was a good time to clean the inside of the outer glass pane and the inside of the door. Make sure that all the broken glass is removed. The panels only go in one way so need to fret out that. The hardest part overall is getting the door off and on. The torx screws come out easily but you have to pull straight out very hard and then the hinges snap back (loudly). To put the door back on, I used small wooden blocks to hold the hinges out about 25 degrees. It took 2 tries the first time I put it back on (I needed to pull the glass to make sure I ordered the correct part) and 3 tries the second time. Watch your fingers!
