Diane August 07, 2013 My oven wasn't maintaing its' temperature but now when I set the oven temperature it doesn't go above low. It won't heat up, is it the temperature sensor?
1 Answer Hello Diane. Check and make sure the elements in the unit are good and the voltage coming to the unit is good. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Peter February 15, 2013 for Model Number RF374PXDW1 WHIRLPOOL ELECTRIC RANGE I'm getting a code e2 f3 on my range. I used an oven cleaner on the oven prior to the problem .The over was warm when i sprayed the cleaner over the interior of the oven,i let the cleaner sit over night then finished cleaning the next morning.
1 Answer Hello Peter, You will need to check the oven sensor and connections. The sensor should have a resistance of 1090 ohms. If not within 10 percent then the sensor is bad and needs replaced. Read More...
Greg February 05, 2013 for Model Number n9357x3 This is an old Roper range. Code F-3 came up on control board,so i checked continuity on thermal fuse #wb27x520 there was none,so i replaced.Everything worked fine for couple of days then code F-3 reappeared checked continuity again, there was none.Checked ohms of oven temperature sensor at end of harness at control board, reading was 1084 i believe this means sensor is o.k. Any ideas on what is causing this thermal fuse to burn out?
1 Answer Hello Greg. You need to check and see if the relay in the control is sticking and causing the element to stay on. If so, replace the control board WB19X265 in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jay January 12, 2013 for Model Number RF391XXW - Oven Oven is intermittent. Shuts off after 3-4 mins. Both elements light up. Switches operate normally. Am assuming Thermostat is cause and needs replacement. Do you agree or could be something else. I agreed will order part now.
1 Answer Hello Jay, You can do a resistance check on the oven sensor to check to see if it is bad. You should have 1090 ohms on the oven sensor. It does sound like it would be a bad sensor but you would want to check first. Read More...
D.C. December 30, 2012 for Model Number whirlpool accubake duo electric about 8 years old My oven preheats but if the temperature drops inside, it seems to sense to turn elements back on. It clicks back on and may reach temperature again. It seems to work with empty oven but not when food is placed in oven. I've tried bake mode and choice bake mode.
1 Answer Hello D.C., This will either be the temperature sensor going out of tolerance or the relay on the control losing contact. From the sound of the complaint, I would first suspect the relay which would mean the board is in need of replacement. I would provide part numbers but there is no model number posted. Read More...
Lynn October 14, 2012 for Model Number RB260PXBQ2 My oven is not heating up properly. The temperature will indicate that it is heating up, and will beep as if the oven is at the selected temperature, but it is not getting hot enough and is definitely not heating to the chosen temperature. Is it the element, the temperature sensor or both?
1 Answer Hello Lynn, This sounds like the temperature sensor WP8053344 is out of tolerance. Read More...
Deb July 26, 2012 for Model Number SF365PEGWO In may I asked about the temp sensor and the problems I was having with my oven. It was recommended that I should replace the control panel. After talking with my dad and brother we agreed that made sense and a month ago I replaced the control panel. The oven has been working great and I was happy to to baking again! However tonight while baking the temperature went well over 450 when I was baking at 350. Is there something else I should consider replacing? Thanks, Deb
1 Answer Hello Deb. You can test the temp sensor WP8053344. It should read around 1100 ohms at room temp and around 1650 ohms at 350°. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Tom May 31, 2012 for Model Number SF315PEGW5 Tried to turn oven to bake, after several minutes I smell gas but the oven will not light. What replacement part is needed?
1 Answer Hello Tom. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve WP3195008. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter WP3186491 will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Deb May 16, 2012 for Model Number SF365PEGWO I have had the Temp sensor changed several years ago and am continuing to have problems with the Temp. the problems vary so I'm not sure it's the sensor that's bad. the oven either doesn't get hot or goes from 250 to over 400 in less than 5 minutes or half way through cooking a batch of cookies it shuts off, if i turn the oven off and turn it back on it "may" actually heat properly. can it be repaired and what needs to be replaced?
1 Answer Hello Deb. What you are describing does not sounds like the temp sensor, it sounds like the main control board 3196971 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. This has the relays that turns the oven on and off and regulates the temperature as the sensor sends the ohms resistance reading to the control board. Read More...
Bobby January 04, 2012 for Model Number RB17OPXYQ How do I test the heat sensor? The element work and the oven will not reach the right temperature.
1 Answer Hello Bobby. The sensor WP8053344 should read around 1100 ohms at room temperature and 1650 ohms at 350°. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
