George November 07, 2018 We replaced our whirlpool Cabrio actuator with a new one and after 3 weeks and we are getting the same error codes E1 and F7. Is it a bad part or is it something else. model # WTW5840BW0
1 Answer George, With that error, there could be some other issues going on with the motor or capacitor or wiring to the control. If you have found your tech sheet it will tell you under that error code what to test to narrow down the problem. If you have not located that tech sheet you can lean the unit back and look inside the cabinet on the front wall upper left corner. Perform the tests associated with the error to find its issue. Harry October 15, 2018 for Model Number MVWX500XL1 Our washer does not go into final spin during cycle. We have to rotate the dial to drain & spin to get the washer to complete the cycle. I have replaced the lid latch. Is it the actuator?
1 Answer Harry, You have a tech sheet on the inner wall of the cabinet. Pop the lid and check the front inner panel for tech sheet and follow instructions to get the unit into diagnostics and check for error codes to find a starting point. Read More...

Chris September 17, 2018 for Model Number Wtw5700xw My Cabrio washer is not working properly. Was not spinning out all the way and close were still wet. Ran diagnostic and had code E1F7. Replaced shift actuator and now machine go to start spins for second and stops
1 Answer Chris, Couple things to check and do. Run the calibration mode. There's a service sheet inside the cabinet under the lid top left close to the front of the unit. Check capacitor for damage or wires. Check wires to the motor for any breaks or damage. Capacitor for the motor is close to the actuator you installed. Most times you can visually see when these fail because they swell and the insides start coming out. Read More...

Bennie June 15, 2018 More of an observation than a question. Why are there so many bad actuators on these Whirlpool washers? Also I repairmen offered to trade out my six-year-old Whirlpool sensing machine for an Amana that is $300 because he said the actuator and labor to change it was $180. But when I look at the videos it doesn't seem like it's much of a job to change the actuator. Kind of sounds like a scam to take and re- sell my better washer. What do you think? I really dislike that these new washers have control over all of the movements instead of me being in control, and would rather have the old style but they really do a great job of cleaning! Thanks.-- Bennie
1 Answer Bennie, Replacing the shift actuator does not take much effort. You simply lean the unit back and remove 2 screws over the cover and then 2 screws holding in the actuator. Remove the actuator and unplug it and install the new one in reverse. Read More...
John June 12, 2018 for Model Number MVWC400XW2 The machine does not seem to be cleaning the clothes and I hear a grinding sound.
1 Answer Hello John, If no items are found between the tubs, this can be caused by a bad part of the splutch W10721967, a failing shift actuator WPW10006355, or a bad gearcase W11132267. Read More...
