Jeff, If the unit is working in the spin and drain cycle but not in the normal operation then this will be an issue with the control board.

Dave Livingstone for Model Number ITW4671EW0 Inglis Washer

When we do a load of laundry, our washer will go through the wash cycle, spin dry the clothes, then when it switches to the rinse cycle it will stop and the LED display shows that it is back in the wash cycle. We have to long press the start button to cancel it and then we select the rinse and spin mode to finish the load. it only happens intermittently. Could his be the actuator? The lid lock does work so I can't see this being the problem.

1 Answer

Dave, With this happening intermittently then it would be the control board that would cause this issue.

Kelly, If the lid is not locking in the normal mode but will during the diagnostics then this will be a corrupt control board that will need to be replaced. If it is not locking in the diagnostics then you would want to do a lock test and the lock may need to be replaced.

Justin for Model Number WTW4816FW2

I have a whirlpool washer. The model number is WTW4816FW2 and the serial number is C90221577. I am having problems with the washer going through the sensing modes and getting caught up in the cycles.I have done alittle research and i found on different sites and you tube that there is a sensing sensor that goes bad on them after awhile and this sensor allows it to go through different cycles and when it acts up then it starts with problems my washer is having. My washer seems to start a cycle and does not finish it.Most of the time it will pour the intial water onto the clothes ,agitate for a bit then stop. Then sometimes it will finish the process and spin, its intermittent. All research i see is pointing to a bad sensor.I was also wondering if the control board might be causing the issues too,but i have found nothing on that.I was wondering if your might be able to shed some light on my problem and help direct me towards what part or sensor could be giving my washer the troubles it is so i can order it and replace it and get my washer back working Thanks so very much for your time.

Justin, We will send you a tech sheet. You will want to read the sheet to find out how to enter service mode then gather the error codes that are stored. By the error code is a page number on how to test that component to verify failure.

Jim for Model Number MVWC415EW1

In normal wash setting (12-oclock) the water fills [green LED on] and the flow is shut off as appropriate. Then nothing: green led on but no lid-lock [red led]. Unit make audible and slight movement [flinch] but nothing other than that. I left it in this mode for 5 minutes or more and nothing . Pushed-hold- cancel call The washer pumped out the fill. Switched to 'drain and spin' setting on the dial: green led on, then lid lock energized [red led lit] then nothing. Left it n this mode and timer eventually went to done [but nothing done]. What is your diagnosis here; if you please? thanks, jim

1 Answer

Jim, You will need to lift the top up and retrieve the tech sheet. It is located on the front top left of the cabinet in a plastic bag. You will need to enter the unit into diagnostic mode and then enter the fault code mode and retrieve the fault codes. Further, into the tech sheet, the fault codes are listed and explained and testing will be written by the fault code.

Fred, It sounds like this issue will be caused by something doing with the splutch assembly causing the shift actuator to pop out.
