Manufacturer Part Number: WPW10292584

This auto load sensing water level pressure switch monitors the tub's water level via the air hose and signals the control to start or stop filling. It helps prevent underfilling or overfilling for consistent wash performance. What it does:

  • Senses tub water level through air pressure and communicates with the control/timer
  • Regulates automatic load-size fill by cycling the inlet valve circuit
  • Addresses symptoms such as won't fill, won't stop filling/overfills, underfills, or cycle not advancing due to water-level detection issues
What's included:
  • One load-sensing water level pressure switch
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off water supply before servicing
  • Access the console/top to release and remove the switch
  • Transfer wire connectors and the pressure hose one at a time; ensure the hose is seated fully and not cracked, kinked, or obstructed
  • Do not adjust any calibration screws; mount in the same orientation and reassemble

For Whirlpool Water Level Pressure Switch (Auto Load Sensing) (Part Number: OEM18056652)

Brandon for Model Number WTW57ESVW0

My washer fills up with too much water before agitating. It doesn't overflow and the water stops filling no problem. It just seems to OVERFILL before it begins washing. The water level always seems high regardless of how much clothing I load in it. I checked the pressure sensor tube. It is completely clean and clear. Could there be any other possible issue or spot I could check besides the sensor switch P/N: AP4501024? Like could where the tube connects to the tub be clogged?

Hello Brandon. If you raise the lid, this model reset to a full tub. You need to leave the lid closed the entire cycle for the unit to fill properly.

Hello Jim. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit.

Douglas, You will want to check the pressure switch on the unit to make sure that it is functioning properly. This issue sounds more like the timer is going to be the issue since the timer is not moving and is overfilling.

Fpric, The F28 is a serial communication problem between the Central control unit and the motor control unit. Which means that the 2 boards are not communicating. With the MCU already being replaced and the wires checking ok and the issue would be in the CCU which is part number WPW10525351.

Steve, You're pretty close to target. Your washer doesn't have an individual load sensing switch. The load sensing circuit and the fill and water temperature control are combined in the water temperature switch WPW10248240. Check the wires for loose connections at both ends, replace the switch and you should be fine.

Washer will not fill,I have power to the hot and cold fill valves but solenoids will not open. The fill valves are good can hook power direct and solenoids will open. The auto sensing switch with the clear hose from the tub to the switch, when I remove the hose from the switch and blow in it should it not click like the old model pressure switches? Also I was messing around with the lid switch and every so often I would hear the water solenoid vale click open, rewired lid switch and even bypassed it and still have 117.4 V to the water solenoids but will not open. I am wandering if the auto sensing swith or fill valve is telling the machine is full and will not open the valves. Why would I have voltage to the valves but they will not open. Could I have a bad neutral wire?

1 Answer

Hello David. You need to check and see if the cold water valve is clogged or if it is bad and needs to be replaced on the unit.
