Dewaldg April 02, 2014 for Model Number 110.24622300 Cold water fill rate is too slow. Water inlet valve was replaced recently and made some improvement, but it did not resolve the problem. Hot water fill rate is fine. There is a low hum while cold water is filling. Is the problem caused by a faulty pressure switch, timer motor, or a combination of both?
1 Answer Hello Dewaldg. You need to check the water pressure coming to the unit. If the valve is humming and opening, it sounds like the water pressure coming to the unit is the issue. Read More...
Beth March 22, 2014 for Model Number wtw57esvxo Hi, Could you please tell me where the switch sensor is located? Thanks, Beth
1 Answer Beth, The WPW10292584 sensor switch is located in the control panel of the washer. It's the third switch from the left, labeled "Fabric Softener". You will need to remove power to the washer, use a putty knife or other flat blade tool to release the retainer springs under the end caps of the control panel, and flip the console up and over the top. You'll have access to all the switches, timer, etc. Read More...
Jateen P February 08, 2014 for Model Number LSQ9564JQ0 HI, Just recently at the start of the rinse cycle the agitator will stop and the timer shuts off before the water is able to drain, thereby leaving a drum full of water. If I tap or shake the control panel just after the timer shuts off, it will kick in and continue with the rest of the cycle (draining and spinning all of the water off). Sounds like a timer issue but do I also need to change the sensor? I don't think it is a lid switch issue but how can I test this? Thanks, -JP
1 Answer Jateen, The lid switch can be tested for continuity. When the lid is closed there should be continuity to the terminals of the lid switch. If there is continuity then the switch is good. Most likely based on the description the issue would be caused by a faulty timer. Read More...
Marc February 06, 2014 for Model Number WTW57ESVM0 Hi, My Kenmore washer seems to work fine until it gets to the rinse cycle. It's like you turned it off. The lid switch seems to be working. I checked it, and have resistance with the lid closed and not when open. So I restart the machine at rinse, it usually will then drain and spin properly. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Marc
1 Answer Hello Marc. Make sure the lid is actuating the switch when closed. These are known to fail in this manner. If it is good, check the harness for the switch. If the harness is good, then you will need to see if the timer or the motor is bad on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Bernard M. January 10, 2014 for Model Number WTW58ESVW1 After loading my washer, closing the top lid, and pushing the timer knob in to start the wash cycle, it starts agitating and filling with water at the same time. After the load has finished washing, it again sprays water after the spin cycle, leaving my clothes soaking wet. This is a Whirlpool top load washer. Does this sound like a load sensor switch to you? If not, then what? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Bernard, I believe you are correct in your diagnosis. I would suspect the sensor switch WPW10292584 also. Read More...
Bob R January 05, 2014 for Model Number WTW57ESVW0 From previous answers I think the sensor switch is bad. When I remove the air tube at the sensor and blow into it, should I feel pressure? It free airs. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Bob. These have very little resistance. There is no need to blow into these. If the unit is agitating, and not filling, then this part is bad in the unit. Read More...
Jb December 08, 2013 for Model Number MAYTAG-MVW6ESWW Washer will not fill with water. If I fill it with water (from a hose) it will not agitate, but it will drain and spin. No more Maytags for me! I have had problems with it agitating before filling in the past, but I keep a can of compressed air available to blow the water out of the tube. I have checked the water hoses for obstructions.
1 Answer Hello JB. It sounds like the sensor switch is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
