This auto load sensing water level pressure switch monitors the tub's water level via the air hose and signals the control to start or stop filling. It helps prevent underfilling or overfilling for consistent wash performance. What it does:

  • Senses tub water level through air pressure and communicates with the control/timer
  • Regulates automatic load-size fill by cycling the inlet valve circuit
  • Addresses symptoms such as won't fill, won't stop filling/overfills, underfills, or cycle not advancing due to water-level detection issues
What's included:
  • One load-sensing water level pressure switch
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off water supply before servicing
  • Access the console/top to release and remove the switch
  • Transfer wire connectors and the pressure hose one at a time; ensure the hose is seated fully and not cracked, kinked, or obstructed
  • Do not adjust any calibration screws; mount in the same orientation and reassemble

For Whirlpool Water Level Pressure Switch (Auto Load Sensing) (Part Number: OEM18056652)

Jim P. for Model Number RTCA196BAE

I have a Admiral refrigerator, which was recently moved from my mother -law home to mine. It is about 4 or 5 years old. She never had any problems with it, she just wanted a new refigerator. The problem I am having after setting it up is , it is not cooling the fans run but the compressor will not start after running it for almost 7 hrs. My question is it the relay on the compressor part #apa2966871 or and the capacitor part # 2262343 . Also can you tell me how to test them so I know the parts are bad before I order them. Thanks ,any help is greatly appreciated . J. Piller Model #Rtca196BAE

Jumper, Your washer wouldn't have a motor capacitor. Your most likely issue is a seized tub bearing 6-2040130. Once the bearing seizes to the race / sleeve on the transmission case, the motor cannot drive the spin basket, and the motor and or belt can smoke. To repair the washer you'll need the tub bearing assembly, the tub mounting stem 6-2095720, the spanner wrench TB123B, and check the new belt for damage.

William, Did you also check the air hose from the sensor switch to the air bell on the side of the tub. Check and make sure it's not twisted or kinked. When you disconnect the hose from the switch, blow in the end of the hose, to clear any possible debris or clogs, in the tube. If all's OK, check the wiring between the sensor switch and timer control WPW10104800. If the wiring and connections are proper and tight, replace the control.

Hello Paul, The water level switch WPW10292584 on this unit is the most likely cause. Just as a warning, if you blow into this style pressure switch, too much pressure will destroy the internal mechanism. It is only designed to sense the weight of the water in the tub and excessive pressure will damage it.
