Guy D February 27, 2014 for Model Number WFW9500TW02 I am trying to replace the front bellow tube seal on my Whirlpool washer. I have the part, but the video is on a different model washer. So far, I need some one to tell me how to remove the control panel.
1 Answer Hello Guy. The control panel removes the same way except, you have to unsnap the trim from the center of the panel and around the door to remove the front panel and the control panel from the unit. Read More...
1 Answer Christopher, If the door will not lock will not open then the door lock assembly would need to be replaced. To get the door open you will need to remove the lower panel on the front of the unit. Once off you will need to reach your hand up to the bottom of the door lock assembly and there will be a tab at the bottom that you will pull down on to release the door lock. Read More...
Mike December 26, 2013 for Model Number 11042822201 I have a Kenmore HE3 washer (Model 11042822201) and need a replacement door boot seal (original part number 8182119) but can't find the part by either searching the parts for my model or by using the compatibility tool for similar parts for other washers. Can you direct me to the correct part? Also, should I replace the two clamps used to secure the boot or just use the ones that are already there (which are about 10 years old)? Thanks, Mike
1 Answer Hello Mike. WP8181850 is the correct door boot. As for the clamps, if they are not broke or bad, you can reuse the clamps on the boot. Read More...
Neil L November 13, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool Duet Steam Tumblefresh 4.4 I paid very close attention to the video which I am finding quite helpful. I've hit a snag during the part where the demonstrator presses two release valves for the top console section to come off. This differs from my model in that there is no single top console - detergent bay to left (already off), washer door section includes the controls and extends to the top of the washer, LED display and finer laundry controls to right. Does this LED part need to come off for me to continue with the bellow replacement? And if it does, how? Thank you, Neil
1 Answer Hello Neil. These videos are not model exact. You will need to look at your model number and see what you have to do to remove the bellow fom the unit. Usually the front panels and the consoles do need to be removed to replace the parts on the unit. Read More...
Gabe November 03, 2013 for Model Number WFWF8300SW The front bellow tub seal of my front loading Whirlpool washer is split by design. We have been having a problem with black mildew building up inside the split on the bottom portion of the seal causing a bad odor and our clothes and towels having an annoying mildew smell. Do new, redesigned front-bellows exist (solid with no splits), since I know you've had many complaints about this?
1 Answer Hello Gabe, The door gasket must have the folds and "splits" because the tub assembly is on a suspension system inside the cabinet. The front panel is not on this suspension so it has to have the spring or "bellows" effect made into it so they can both move seperately. The new ones are made the same way. We do not make the parts. We sell the parts that the manufacturers make. Read More...
Skippy November 02, 2013 for Model Number GHW 9300PW4 Hi. 1). The video makes it look pretty easy, but I've read that it is extremely difficult to replace this part and the average homeowner would have trouble pulling the rubber seal and putting it in place, Not damaging the clamp, etc. Could a do-it-yourselfer honestly complete this job fairly easily in less than an hour? 2). I have a half-inch half- circle tear in this seal at the bottom of the door opening. Even though it's been there for over a year, is just now starting to leak a bit of water from the bottom of the door. How does this happen? Someone told me a zipper could do it but I zip all of my clothes before washing them. How can we prevent damage to the seal? 3) Where can I find warranty information on this and other products you sell. Thank you very much. I appreciate your help.
1 Answer Skippy, Changing the door boot seal for this unit may take a little more than an hour based on skill level but can be done by a diyer. As far as what would cause this issue. It could be caused by a zipper, something that was in a pocket that fell out, ie. a comb for instance. There are a number of things that could cause the issue which would mostly be something that got into the wash. Read More...
