Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Washer Door Bellow Seal (Part Number: OEM18045252)

1 Answer

Judy, it will either be the pressure switch or the inlet valve. If you start the washer, let the unit start filling, and remove power and the washer continues to fill you have a bad water valve. If it stops filling you have a bad pressure switch or kinked/clogged pressure switch hose. We'll need your model number to determine the correct part numbers. Thanks.

Leslie J. for Model Number WFW8300SW05

Hi. My washing machine leaks water out out of the bottom of the door during the wash and rinse cycles. This started after my son put too many clothes in a load and it appeared that the black rubber seal wasn't on properly. We put it back in place and it looks fine, but water still leaks out when we wash. Would replacing that seal likely do the trick or should I pay someone to come out and look at it before buying the part to make sure that is the problem? Thank you!

Leslie, If the washer were drastically overloaded, or an article was stuck between the door and the boot area, there is most likely damage to the boot WPW10111435 . You may want to replace the boot first, then if the problem persists, check to make sure the washer is not overfilling and the proper amount and type of detergent is being used.

Hello Albert. Remove all the screws securing the panel. Then you unsnap the panel from the cabinet on the unit. Make sure you have removed the dispenser and the screws behind it.

Hello Lisa, To remove the door boot you would unplug unit. Turn off water supply, and remove top cover and console. Remove the lower front access panel. Open the washer door and using a small screwdriver or needle nose pliers, pull the tension spring on the retaining wire out from the front of bellow and remove wire. Remove the front panel from unit and take off the bellow retaining clamp. Remove bellow and install new. Reassemble in reverse.
