Frustrated Mom November 30, 2011 for Model Number Amana LWA65AW AP4035118(27001007) Our washer quit spinning back in June, so I bought a new belt for the washer. Worked great except the washer was a lot louder than it was before, but worked and spun the clothes. The other day went to do a rinse cycle and noticed the clothes didn't spin and had the burnt rubber smell again. My husband took the washer apart and the belt had broke again. My question is when you put the new part on is there something that needs to be done to make sure things are lubricated and what do you lubricate, or is there a way to make sure the tension is set right? Why is the washer so much louder now then it used to be, is there something that should be under the tub to quiet it down?
1 Answer FrustratedMom, Heres some of the information you need to check and resolve, when changing the drive belt on your washer, "Did you check and clean the idler pulley shaft and bearing, check the idler arm spring, and confirm the proper installation. Here's some help : Motor and Mounting Bracket 1. Remove service access panel, NOTE: There will always be some water that will remain in outer tub, before removing hoses from pump, hoses must be pinched off or drained to prevent water spillage. 2. Loosen hose clamps and remove hoses from pump assembly. 3. Unhook idler spring from clip on front of the motor mounting bracket. NOTE: Use care when releasing idler lever tension. If idler spring is overstretched, washer operation will be affected. 4. Reach in and around left side of motor and remove belt off large drive pulley. 5. Disconnect wire harness from motor switch by pressing down on locking tab on top of connection block and at the same time, pull connection block away from motor switch.6. Remove bolts securing motor and mounting bracket to lower outer tub flange and to weldment assembly. 7. Lift complete assembly out of washer. NOTE: Lay motor on its side. Observe belt configuration around rear pump leg. Belt MUST encircle rear pump leg when reassembling. 8. Reverse procedure to reassemble. 1. Remove any corrosion or foreign material from motor shaft. 2. Apply a thin film of lubricant to the end and sides of motor shaft. NOTE: This lubricant helps keep moisture out of the hub area and prevents corrosion. 3. Align belt on motor pulley and tension pulley." Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Shawn October 13, 2011 for Model Number Maytag SAV5600AWW I purchased spin belt AP4035118 (27001007) and installed it. The machine will wash without any problem, but when the spin cycle begins, the belt does not have enough tension to turn the drum. It seems as if the belt is 1" too long. The belt tensioner is working and the spring for it is attached. Is there a revsion for this belt or a different size? Thanks in advance

Evone A. October 06, 2011 for Model Number ALW780QAW Do you have instructions with picture digrams? I'm a girl and have no idea what i'm doing.
1 Answer Hello Evone. The only diagram we have is the parts diagram. You will need to remove the motor from the unit, and remove the pump from the motor. Then install the belt WP27001007 on the motor pulley and around the tension pulley like in the diagram. The large loop, goes around the large pulley in the washer. You will roll the belt onto the large pulley once the motor has been reinstalled with the belt on it correctly. Hope this helps. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=22199&diagram_id=28336219 Read More...
