Mick F January 07, 2018 for Model Number SWT111WA (S/N: R 0003012692) This is a direct drive single spin top load coin op unit. The final spin leaves cloths wet. Seems to reach high speed with no load but not when fully loaded. Installed new pump, new 38165P transmission (was seized) , 37820 drive belt, tub bearing (was very noisy). All hoses are clear. The idler pulley seems OK. Thinking of ordering new pulley, washer & spring. Could the motor is short on torque or the belt the wrong type? Any ideas would be helpful. I've spent too many hours on this washer.
1 Answer Mick, With the unit working without a load in it then this will most likely be a faulty motor since it will not run with a load. Read More...
Bill September 26, 2016 for Model Number SAV2555AWW Hello, I have a Maytag washer model SAV2555AWW which stopped agitating. I ordered a replacement drive belt from a different web store, part # ER27001007, installed it and the belt seems loose. The machine barely agitates while in wash mode, but it does spin ok and drains fine. Any ideas? Thank You. Bill
1 Answer Hello Bill. The belt is suppose to be loose on these. Either the agitator is bad or the transmission is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...

Willy L. October 21, 2014 for Model Number LWS17BWK - series: R0009020241 Your Q&A forum and testimonials are very helpful ! We have a "KOBLENZ"-"Ultraclean"- 10kg. capacity LWS17BWK model. This is a mexican-bought product with their 'make name' tagged on an american machine, basically Whirlpool (Speed Queen, Maytag) top load type. It's 1/2 hp motor model is; S67PXKEK-7683. It was stored new for a few years, and when we finally got reliable electrical service in our very rural community, it was put to good use and functioned well until the orig. belt broke and idler pulley actually separated at its center bearing, from then chipped-up plastic roller. I believe that overloading may have lead to this, The machine was in disuse for some time until I procured a new idler-tension pulley and belt, installed them successfully only to have the same happen again. Same busted-up belt and separated idler pulley. I did seem to notice after first repair, that when the transmission would reverse, to go into 'spin-cycle', which is when the idler pulley seems to do it's thing, that spin start-up was quite slow and seemed strained, and the motor would smell and get hot. Eventually it would spin, but I was never sure if the motor should feel so hot and give-off that 'electrical' smell. Not good, right?? Well, to shorten this, the second replacement belt I put on, also got shredded, damaged, as the pulley separated again. There is a notable bearing noise when it was spinning, can you give me some of your expert advise ? Which are the proper belt and pulley replacements for this machine? I bet I have to replace the bearing(s) ? also. I do believe that the original belt says Goodyear- RSPC 37820. and the pulley I've used. an AP4036090, speed queen and whirlpool parts respectively. O.K. I've told far too much, sorry. I'll await your response, thanks so much..... sincerely, traumatized and soon to be banished by wife, washing machine owner. W.L.
1 Answer Hello Willy. WP27001007 is the belt you need for the unit. You do need to order and replace the bearings in the unit as well. If not, the issue will continue. Read More...
Terry February 26, 2014 for Model Number alw480daw amana Spin belt broke. I got a new belt #27001007 and a new tension pulley. Installed the new belt and pulley. Tried a spin cycle. It didn't work. I noticed that the new belt was loose. My wife turned on the spin cycle and I pulled the on the tension mechanism and it started to spin. Is there a reason the belt is loose. Help Thanks Terry
1 Answer Hello Terry, You need to make sure the idler pulley is not damaged and the idler arm spring is installed properly. The spring should keep the idler pulley firmly against the belt and tension applied. Read More...
Myron January 16, 2014 for Model Number PALW480DAW and has ALW480DAW Hi, I am experiencing a problem with my Amana washer (PALW480DAW/ALW480DAW) w/ a two speed motor. The information decal by the selector knob says something about commercial (?). The problem is: in early December 2013 the drive belt broke and I ordered one to replace it. The belt came and I removed everything as instructed and got it back together and it ran fine. Then 4 weeks later the 'new' belt broke, so I got another one. Put it on and now the newest belt seems to fit loosely and appears to not engage like it should. Do I need to purchase the belt tensioner set-up or could I just buy a 'new' spring and hope that that takes care of the problem? Or is there another problem here that I should linvestigate? I am nearly at the end of my rope with this situation with this washer! Plus, my wife would like to have some clean, fresh smelling clothes pronto!!! Thank you -- Myron <,*)))))><
1 Answer Hello Myron. The tub bearing is bad and is causing the belts to fail. You will need to replace the bearing R9900457 in the unit. Read More...
Doug F January 08, 2014 for Model Number ALW54ORAW Hello. My washer won't agitate, the drum doesn't spin, and there is a burning smell. I opened up the panel and the drive belt is broken. I know I need to change that, but do you think that will fix everything, or is there something else that may need to be replaced? Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Doug. You will need to replace the belt and the bearing kit R9900457 on the unit. To install the belt, you will need to remove the motor and then take off the pump and run the belt around the motor pulley. Reinstall the pump and then install motor into washer. Roll belt onto the large pulley under the unit. Read More...
