Mickpb for Model Number MSD2732grs

A buzzing / sizzling sound comes fountain / ice door cover. Randomly starts and stops. Frequently a tap on the cover will stop the noise. As the sound seems to be coming from the relay instead of the ice door solemoid I disconnected the power from the ice door solenoid and shortly there after the noise returned. Is there any other possbile cause than failure of the relay on the solenoid door. The refridgerator is 14 years old so I am not wanting to be throwing parts at it but I quite motivated to get rid of the noise, Thank in advance

Hello MickPD, likely the limit switch WP61005520 that is located behind the black rubber actuator pad 61003804 has gotten wet or is failing, which will allow a partial signal to the dispenser control board WP61005274 and cause the noise.

Maytag Plus MSD2456DEB Two problems. One resolved. 1) Water on floor in front of appliance. Found water and ice under lower basket in freezer and ice buildup in the ‘airway’ leading to the refrigerator section. From a similar experience several years ago, I cut off power, emptied freezer & refrigerator and let unit totally defrost. After cleaning the interior, I reconnected power and, when satisfied things were working properly, reloaded food in both sides. (Resolved) 2) An hour or so later, I tried to get a glass of ice and water from the dispenser and discovered nothing related to the dispenser was functional. No lights. No response. No nothing. I tried the lock/unlock feature. Nothing. Selected the various control buttons. Nothing. Replaced the dispenser’s light bulb. Nothing. Tried resetting things by disconnecting power and reconnecting after 30 seconds. Nothing. (Problem!) All other features of the refrigerator and freezer are working as they should. Time to replace the dispenser control board?

BK, More likely you have a fountain switch issue going on.Part# WP61005277 is the fountain switch.Remove front cover and check to see if you have voltage from the control to the fountain switch.board

Sarg, There is no bulb for the dispenser light, it is an LED system and is mounted to the chute extension assembly WPW10131128 . Power to the LED lights is supplied by the low voltage/dispenser control board.

Terry for Model Number MZD2766GEW

Ice maker woes. Have replaced icemaker completely 3 times. Have replaced all valves twice over the past 6 years. Ice maker now is very erratic. Sometimes works great, most times either too much water in maker causing the cubes to fuse together and hang or no water and not makes ice. always over flows maker and freezes in the bottom of bin. have had to replace auger, bin and motor over the past couple of years. Bin support is now broken for the second time. Any ideas?

Terry, With the icemaker overfilling then this would most likely be an issue with the water valve that is not fully closing or too high of water pressure.

Thomas, Yes, the dispenser control board WP61005274 supplies power/voltage to the water dispenser solenoids. But, your first check should be at the reservoir, make sure it's not frozen or clogged. Then check the water inlet valve(s) on the back of the refrigerator. The valve(s) are more susceptible to failure than the control board, under the circumstances.

Chris, The most likely cause for the water to not get to the icemaker when the icemaker has been replaced and the water valve having been replaced would be a frozen fill tube to the icemaker. Check to see if the fill tube is frozen and clear.
