Nathan, There are two parts you may want to replace based on your post information. The dispenser control board WP61005274 and the limit/actuator switch WP61005520, located behind the dispenser push pad. These two parts work together, if one part is weak or fails, both parts should be replaced at the same time.

Hello Mark, You will need to open the dispense area to determine the cause of the issue. There are several things to check such as the micro-switch and the mount for it since the mount can melt from a stuck switch. The assembly will most likely need to be removed and washed since sticky from drinks will get into the switch area when ice is dispensed into the drinks which will splash when the ice drops into the drink. Make sure the board and other electrical components do not get wet. If the switch WP61005520 is sticky, it will need to be replaced.

Our problem started when the water would not shut off. I ordered a replacement switch and replaced it per the on line procedure. After putting the unit back together the the light came on and the crush light was on, when I tried to trun the light off the lock key came on and will not go off. I removed the control board to inspect it and put back together the lock key was still on, then it went off and the crush light came on, I pushed the water button and it worked, then the lock key came back on and I was right back where I started....:>( I can not get the lock key to go off. What do you think I need to replace?

1 Answer

Dana, The most common reason for the dispenser light not coming on and the unit spewing ice and water out would be a bad faulty control board WP61005274.

JTB, Yes, the control board would be the issue of the unit malfunction. Since the solenoid stayed open you will want to possibly replace the water valve as well as this issue could have damaged the solenoid if it was on for too long.
