Goatman April 01, 2017 for Model Number WTW5300SQ0 Our Whirlpool washer tub is running out of balance. When opening the lid, the inside is pushed towards the 5:00 position. This causes water to splash out when filling and it runs pretty loud and violent banging the front panel. I've replaced the 3 plastic pads as one was gone but it didn't have any affect. I'm guessing one wore out from it being out of balance. Unit is level to the floor. I'm thinking possibly the spring in the back doesn't have enough tension for some reason? When I disassembled the unit to get the pads in place they all seemed to be in good shape. Nothing bent, broken or unhooked etc.. I'm guessing the unit is about 10 years old and mostly for just two people. Thank you.
1 Answer Goatman, This issue would most likely be caused by a issue with the counterweight spring which would be part number WPW10250667. Read More...
Terri June 14, 2014 for Model Number whirlpool LSR844LQO After the spin cycle but when the basin is spinning down to stop the washer makes a loud thumping sound (like a machine gun) and walks across the floor a bit. washer seems to spin the water out of the clothes fine but the noise is new (and loud). It does not seem to make a difference if it is a large load or the small load. Any ideas? Thanks
1 Answer Terri, It sounds like the drive block WP389140 has "rounded" out, and is spinning on the basket drive tube W10820043 when the brake locks and stops the spin process. you'll need to remove the agitator, Spanner nut and spin basket to check the tabs on the top of the drive tube and replace the drive block if the tabs are OK. Sasha March 20, 2013 for Model Number LA5668xswo Hi, We recently purchased a house with a whirlpool LA5668xswo. The upper agitator kept falling off during the wash cycle. The lower part still works. We want to replace the upper agitator. It also is missing a cap/ fabric softener cover (I'm not sure what this model is supposed to have). What parts would we need to buy? I am confused because the upper agitator which was in the machine has a part number of 63753, which on this website is listed as incompatible with this model. Thanks, Sasha
David December 08, 2012 for Model Number LA55580XTWO The top part of the agitator does not seem to be working. I can turn it by hand without resistance. When the machine is working, it repeatedly turns maybe and 8th of a turn then comes back to where it starts. It does not appear to be moving the clothes in the water column as it should. Is there a relatively simple fix for this?
1 Answer Hello David, With agitator not engaging it sounds like you need to get new agitator dogs 285811. The dogs are located under the fabric dispenser or cap in the center of the agitator. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Darrell! It sounds like the agitator dogs and cam are failing in the upper agitator. You can replace these parts in a kit, part number 285811. This agitator repair kit is used when the upper agitator is not working and should correct your issue. Thanks! Read More...
