Ran February 12, 2018 for Model Number MGR6775BDS I replaced the bake Ignitor in the top oven. One of the leads had fried. Once it was installed and tested, it worked great but will not shut off when I hit cancel. The display info turned off but the burner was still firing. Is this possibly a bad board problem?
1 Answer Ran, If the igniter is not shutting off then this will be a faulty control board for the unit. Read More...
Jon July 19, 2016 for Model Number MGR6775ADS Neither the top nor the bottom oven are heating. The display really 100F. The igniters aren't heating up either. Both ovens failed at the same time. I'm thinking the control board is bad. Any recommendations?
1 Answer Hello Jon. Test for power to the ignitors. If there is no power there when the oven is turned on, you will need to order and replace the control board in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jeff December 09, 2014 for Model Number MGR6775ADS Oven temp not consistent on both upper and lower oven. Have previously replaced temp sensors but since both ovens acting up I am guessing the problem is in the control panel. When you turn the oven off and back on sometimes it reads higher temp sometimes lower. Not consistent. Could it be anything besides the electronic panel? Any way to check and make sure that is really it?
1 Answer Hello Jeff. If both of the sensors are new, you will need to order and replace the control board WPW10166969 in the unit. Read More...
Thomas P. May 22, 2014 for Model Number Mgr6775bdq My bottom oven stopped working. So I replaced the T-stat it didn't help, The igniter works, the gas didn't come on so I replaced the control valve. The oven came on an heated up to 269 (it was set for 350) an stopped. Now what ? The Electronic Control panel has burned out on this stove before, I have replaced it 2 times already. Could it be the Control panel again ???
1 Answer Thomas, No, at this point the control doesn't seem to be the issue. At this point as with most gas ranges, you'll need to check or replace the oven burner igniter W11596211. It is probably weak and malfunctioning. The burner igniter can come on, and glow orange, and appear to be working. But the igniter has to glow "white" hot to open the gas safety valve. If you can access a clamp on ammeter, when you turn the oven on, and the glow bar is glowing, it has to draw 3.2 to 3.6 amps in order to open the valve. Anything lower or intermittent will not allow the oven to ignite and heat consistently. Read More...
Ron J November 27, 2012 The bottom oven of my Maytag mgr6775bds gas range quit working after my wife said she heard a pop. I have replaced the igniter since that appeared to be the problem. The old igniter had a break in one of the electric lines like it had a short, The oven still won't come on and the igniter doesn't glow. Are there any fuses etc. ? I read earlier Q/A and plan to test with multimeter. Would the control board have problems with only the lower oven and still function fine for everything else?
1 Answer Hello Ron, With the bake on have the ignitor disconnected at the connector. Check the wiring on the connector to see if you have 120vac. If there is not 120vac present then you will need to check the wiring back up to the control board for damage. If there is no damage to wiring then you will need to replace the control board WPW10166969. If there is voltage present then the ignitor would be bad. Read More...
Wayne October 06, 2011 for Model Number mgr6775bdq Hello I checked gas valve when I turned on broiler setting,I had 3.3 at valve and when I tried bake setting 0 at gas valve. If igniter works on broil that should be good for bake. So I'm thinking bad gas valve, from earlier question you said weak igniter? If low voltage? Hope to hear from you soon.
1 Answer Hi Wayne. Tend to lean with a bad gas valve also. Just wanted you to check the igniter to see if it had a hairline crack /shipment. Is the gas valve ohmming out @ closed= .01 ohms or so? Coil resistence should be 0-ohms. Are you referring to 3.3 vac (ac volts?), or amps? You should get 3.2-3.6 amps at the gas valve, if not replace the igniter. Are you getting 120vac to the igniter terminals ? Thank you. Read More...
Wayne October 06, 2011 for Model Number maytag mgr6775bdq stove My top oven doesn't light I replaced temp sensor and igniter maytag parts, still doesn't work igniter works when press broil option and temp starts at 105 when try to start top oven bottom works fine and when starting bottom temp starts at 100. Do I need to invest in control board?
1 Answer Hello Wayne. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve WP74011290 with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Ben August 30, 2011 for Model Number MGR6775ADW My top oven broil works fine, but the bake function will not work. I hear the click when I push the bake button, but the igniter doesn't glow and the oven doesn't heat. Does this mean I need to replace the control board or a switch on the back side of the oven?
1 Answer Hello Ben. You will need to test and see if there is 120 volts coming to the igniter W11596211. If so, and the igniter does not glow, you will need to replace the igniter. If there is no voltage there, you will need to replace the control WPW10166969. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Pam P. July 29, 2011 for Model Number MGR6775bds If I can not get the cancel button to work when I press it. Do I need to replace the control board? 2) My bottom over the ignitor will glow red, but the gas does not come out. The stove top works and the second top oven does.
1 Answer Hello Pam. For the cancel problem, you will need to replace the control board WPW10166969. As for the gas, you will need to test at the gas safety valve and see if there is 3.2-3.4 volts AC there with the igniter turned on. If not, you will need to replace the igniter W11596211. If the proper voltage is there, you will need to replace the gas valve WP74011290. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
