Wayne for Model Number maytag mgr6775bdq stove My top oven doesn't light I replaced temp sensor and igniter maytag parts, still doesn't work igniter works when press broil option and temp starts at 105 when try to start top oven bottom works fine and when starting bottom temp starts at 100. Do I need to invest in control board?
Answer Hello Wayne. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve WP74011290 with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
