Rob February 16, 2014 for Model Number WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE The lower part of the agitator is not turning. I removed the whole assembly and the shaft in the tub is turning. What do you think the problem is?
1 Answer Hello Rob. If the agitator does not turn, but the shaft does, you will need to replace the agitator in the unit. Read More...
Pat January 23, 2014 for Model Number saws800hq0 Our washer does not agitate but will spin and go through its full cycle. The clothes just swirl around the tub. We have tried the motor coupling but it looks good. We have removed the agitator and all of its parts look fine (unless we are missing something). When the washer should be agitating it makes a horrible grinding noise.
1 Answer Hello Pat. If the dogs are good inside the agitator, then you will need to replace the transmission in the unit. Read More...
Pat January 23, 2014 for Model Number saws800hq0 Our washer will spin but will not agitate. Clothes just swirl around the tub and the agitator will spin in both directions when I turn it manually. We have checked the motor coupling and it seems just fine. We have taken out the agitator and all of the parts seem fine too. The washer does make a horrible grinding noise when it is trying to agitate.
Keith January 10, 2014 for Model Number WTW5520SQO Was wondering if I can get this complete agitator assembly. I can not find this model on the list. What all is in this kit and the price? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Keith! The complete agitator assembly listed for your model is part number 285565. This includes the upper and lower portion of the agitator. It does not, however, include the agitator cap or fabric dispenser. Thanks. Read More...
Randy December 04, 2013 for Model Number RTW4440V01 Clothes are getting wraped around agitator and making loud noise.
1 Answer Hello Randy. You need to order and replace the agitator assembly in the unit. It sounds like it may be bad. Also, make sure the unit is not getting overloaded with clothing. Read More...
Terry C December 03, 2013 for Model Number LSQ9549LW0 Upper agitator dogs have lost their teeth so that they won't engage the upper agitator's ring of teeth. I know that I need to order the short cam agitator repair kit (AP3094543). My problem is that I can't figure out how to get the old components - that I need to replace - out of the upper agitator. Are they supposed to come out of the top of the upper agitator? If so how? Or are they supposed to come out of the bottom of the upper agitator? If that is the case is there some trick to getting the upper and lower agitators apart? The video makes separating the two look easy but I'm finding it impossible with just brute force. Afraid I'll break something. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Terry. Here is a link to the parts page. There is a video on there to help you replace the kit. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-short-cam-agitator-285809-ap3094543.html Read More...
1 Answer Hello Don. Remove the cap off the agitator and remove the bolt from the center of the agitator. Then lift out the agitator. Read More...
Jill C September 22, 2013 for Model Number LSB6200PQ1 I have a Whirlpool washer, model LSB6200PQ1. The upper portion of the agitator shaft is spinning, rather then just turning in one direction increments so I thought I may need the agitator repair kit AP3094543. However, before I order the repair kit, I want to be sure there isn't an issue with the functioning of the lower part of the agitator as well. I know the upper portion of the agitator shaft should only turn in a clockwise direction. Is that the same for the base of the agitator as well or does the lower half of the agitator work differently? Can you help me determine if I need the repair kit or the agitator assembly AP3132864 please? Also, if I need the agitator assembly, will it include the parts from the short cam agitator repair kit? Thank you for the help.
1 Answer Jill, This issue would be caused by the agitator repair kit. The upper agitator will rotate clockwise but should stop intermittently then twist again. The lower agitator would rotate back and forth with the transmission shaft. The repair kit should solve the issue that you are having. Read More...
