Symptoms of a bad complete agitator assembly include:

  • Vibration or shaking issues during agitation

  • An agitator that is difficult to rotate by hand
  • Cracks, missing pieces or corrosion visible upon inspection

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and some Kenmore models.

Terry C for Model Number LSQ9549LW0

Upper agitator dogs have lost their teeth so that they won't engage the upper agitator's ring of teeth. I know that I need to order the short cam agitator repair kit (AP3094543). My problem is that I can't figure out how to get the old components - that I need to replace - out of the upper agitator. Are they supposed to come out of the top of the upper agitator? If so how? Or are they supposed to come out of the bottom of the upper agitator? If that is the case is there some trick to getting the upper and lower agitators apart? The video makes separating the two look easy but I'm finding it impossible with just brute force. Afraid I'll break something. Thank you.

Hello Don. Remove the cap off the agitator and remove the bolt from the center of the agitator. Then lift out the agitator.

Jill C for Model Number LSB6200PQ1

I have a Whirlpool washer, model LSB6200PQ1. The upper portion of the agitator shaft is spinning, rather then just turning in one direction increments so I thought I may need the agitator repair kit AP3094543. However, before I order the repair kit, I want to be sure there isn't an issue with the functioning of the lower part of the agitator as well. I know the upper portion of the agitator shaft should only turn in a clockwise direction. Is that the same for the base of the agitator as well or does the lower half of the agitator work differently? Can you help me determine if I need the repair kit or the agitator assembly AP3132864 please? Also, if I need the agitator assembly, will it include the parts from the short cam agitator repair kit? Thank you for the help.

Jill, This issue would be caused by the agitator repair kit. The upper agitator will rotate clockwise but should stop intermittently then twist again. The lower agitator would rotate back and forth with the transmission shaft. The repair kit should solve the issue that you are having.
