Jim June 15, 2011 for Model Number KitchenAid 25 cu ft side-by-side refrig/freezer with optical sensors Ice maker stopped working through a full cycle. Water goes in the mold. The water freezes. But the ejector tongs stop when they rotate to the ice cubes still in the mold. The heater works as the ice cubes come loose but then re-freeze to the mold. I don't know if the heater is out of sync with the ejector cycle or if the motor is too week. Or something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jeff May 24, 2011 for Model Number 106.56712500 Does the complete icemaker assembly come with the ice maker control module? I removed the complete assembly, defrosted, reinstalled. The icemaker made one batch of ice cubes then quit functioning again. Does the complete icemaker assembly sound like a logical solution? Or would you recommend just the control module?
1 Answer Hello Jeff. It sounds like the icemaker is bad, and will need to be replaced. The icemaker assembly 2198597 does come with the module. Hope this helps. Read More...
Jj May 16, 2011 for Model Number (same model Number as my 1st post) It's the same model number as from my 1st post. (not near the fridge so I can't get it right now) I have heard of some people sanding down the ice tray and then spraying with extreme temperature appliance paint, I may have to try something like that because I really don't want to pay for the entire assembly when it works fine.. just because whirlpool made a tray coating that only lasted 2-3 years, sad. (fridge is only 5 years old)
1 Answer Hello JJ. You can order just the mold WPW10190929. You do not have to order the complete icemaker. Hope this helps. Read More...
Jj May 16, 2011 for Model Number N/A Why would I replace the Ice maker if it works fine... I just need some sort of spray to coat the existing one so that the ice does not taste bad due to the peeling of the coating.. Also I do not need the whole assembly if it's just the ice tray, what is the part for just the ice tray or a spray coating, thank you!
Jj May 15, 2011 for Model Number Whirlpool ET1CHMXKB05 Ice maker works great but the coating on it is peeling off, is there a spray to re-coat it so that the bare metal is not exposed as I believe it is making the ice taste funny.
1 Answer Hello JJ! If the coating is coming off, the icemaker will need to be replaced. Your part number is 4317943. Thanks! Read More...

Ron May 02, 2011 for Model Number MSD2669KEA00 I have water overflowing the icemaker . Then builds up and no ice until I defrost it with a hair dryer. Does the icemaker or water inlet valve need to be replace?
Harry April 30, 2011 for Model Number 106.56533400 My Kenmore side-by-side is not producing ice. Using a different service they helped trouble shoot the problem to the valve inlet switch. Basically the problem is that no water is going into the ice maker. This other service had me disconnect the line to the ice maker and blow into the tube to see if it was frozen. It wasn't so they suggested that I replace the valve. Using this site I ordered and replaced the valve. However, it still does not produce ice. No water is going into the ice maker but the icemaker arm does rotate. Is there some way to verify the ice maker is working properly and is there another part that signals the valve to open to put water into the ice maker? I want to order the correct part.
1 Answer Hello Harry! If the fill tube is not frozen and you have replaced the valve it seems that the ice maker is not calling for the valve to fill. You will need to replace the ice maker. Your part number is 2198597. Thanks. Read More...
