Hi RRK. You are using the correct part. There wont be any difference in using a lower wattage heater. The ice maker is factory set for the correct amount of time it takes (5-7 seconds) to be energized to release the cubes. If the manufacture approves this update, then you should be fine. Thank- you.

Bob for Model Number kitchenaide ksrs25ikss01

my ice maker would not stop making ice when container on door was full. replaced p/c boards. ordered whirlpool part number ap3137510. you sent sub part 4389102. did not fix problem. your guy decided the replacement part was defective and sent a new one. still does not work. when initially installed, went through two cycles before it quit. i/m seems not to be the problem. led lights indicate no problem, but i noticed that when i accidently pressed the light switch, the led went out. this indicates to me that the controller is not operating when the door is closed. any ideas? could the sub not be the correct part?

Hi Bob. When the ice maker head shorts out, it will continually ask the water valve for water. You can either order and replace the front motor module assembly, part # W10190935, or the whole ice maker part # D7824706Q. When the L.E.D. lights go out after the door switch is closed , this emulates just that the door is closed and the led emitter is reading correctly , passing through the ice bin and over to the left receiver board. The ice maker sounds to be at fault . Hope This Helps. Thank - you.

Hello Pickledoldman. You will need to check and see if the fill tube is frozen. If so, you will need to thaw out the fill tube so water can come in when the icemaker cycles. Hope this helps.
