Hello Bruce. No, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control board is the issue. If it stops mid cycle, wouldn't be the control panel. It would be the control board in the unit.

Barry for Model Number kitchenaid KUDM01TJWHO

On the dishwasher I get intermittent flashing lights on the display. The normal light flashes and if I hit cancel, it flashes along with it, none of the other buttons work. The dishwasher is inoperable during this time. This only lasts for several hours and then the dishwasher works fine. I recently replaced part number AP3775506 when the dishwasher would not start at all. Does this sound like part number AP3138254 is going as well? Many thanks.

Hello Barry. If sometimes it works and other times it does not work, yes, it sounds like the console assembly WP8270227 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.

Hi Bert. The overlay/insert is the actual keypad that only comes with the console, hence forth the console assy. part # WP8270227 White. Black is part # WP8270226. All manufactures assemble them in this fashion. If the dishwasher is not installed initially leveled with all 4- legs touching the floor snugly, then during a wash cycle with heat a issue occurs. The tub will have a full load and "twist" as the tub heats and runs. This in turn will compromise the door latch assy. part # 8193882, that breaks along with the console assy. which it is bolted onto. Thank you.
