Joe September 18, 2013 for Model Number KUDM01TJWH0 Unit will not start when you press start button. Lights for cycles, options & cancel buttons work. Is console assembly or electronic control or door switch bad?
1 Answer Hello Joe. Make sure the door switches are good. If so, replace the console WP8270227. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Bruce October 10, 2012 for Model Number KUDM01TJBT0 Lately my KitchenAid dishwasher has stopped working; sometimes in the midle of the cycle. There is no problem with the circuit breaker but when this happens, none of the front panel buttons are operational or lit up. I have been able to get it back running by taking the control panel off and disconnecting the ribbon cable for several minutes but now even that is not working. Will replacing the control panel (8270227) be the solution? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Bruce. No, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control board is the issue. If it stops mid cycle, wouldn't be the control panel. It would be the control board in the unit. Read More...

Dave July 26, 2012 for Model Number KUDM01TJ All lights are operational but start will not start the dishwasher. 10-sec hold on start button makes the rinse-only light blink. I followed advice here and replaced the control assembly, and also "reset" by pressing the correct button sequence. The problem remains. What should I try next? The control board? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Dave you will need to check and see if the door switches WP8269209 are bad and needs to be replaced on the unit. If they are bad, they will prevent the unit from working and starting properly. Read More...
Barry June 15, 2012 for Model Number kitchenaid KUDM01TJWHO On the dishwasher I get intermittent flashing lights on the display. The normal light flashes and if I hit cancel, it flashes along with it, none of the other buttons work. The dishwasher is inoperable during this time. This only lasts for several hours and then the dishwasher works fine. I recently replaced part number AP3775506 when the dishwasher would not start at all. Does this sound like part number AP3138254 is going as well? Many thanks.
1 Answer Hello Barry. If sometimes it works and other times it does not work, yes, it sounds like the console assembly WP8270227 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Bert E October 12, 2011 for Model Number KUDMO1TJWHO Re: Your response regarding part# AP3138254 - Does the console asy part also have the latch parts, i.e., lath, spring, actuator, handle, etc.? Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Bert, No, the control panel assembly WP8270227 is just that, the control panel. The door latch assembly and handle are separate components WP8268540 WP8524472 WP8534985 8193882, Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Bert E. October 11, 2011 for Model Number kudmo1jwho The parts description (part#AP313254) states the Console Asm includes the active overlay and insert. Q. What constitute the insert? My problem is that the handle is broken, a spring is missing, but also the plasic insert for the screws are cracked (on one side) and broken on the other side. I probably can work around this problem but want to see what this part includes.
1 Answer Hi Bert. The overlay/insert is the actual keypad that only comes with the console, hence forth the console assy. part # WP8270227 White. Black is part # WP8270226. All manufactures assemble them in this fashion. If the dishwasher is not installed initially leveled with all 4- legs touching the floor snugly, then during a wash cycle with heat a issue occurs. The tub will have a full load and "twist" as the tub heats and runs. This in turn will compromise the door latch assy. part # 8193882, that breaks along with the console assy. which it is bolted onto. Thank you. Read More...
