Mary August 26, 2015 for Model Number don't know We had a power outage, due to rain storm. When the power came back on all of the Whirlpool dishwasher lights were flashing in sequence. Tried pressing various buttons, but lights would not stop and washer would not start. Unplugged washer for 24 hrs and lights still flash in sequence. What do you suggest we try? Thank you, Mary
1 Answer Hello Mary. Make sure the door switches are good on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jerry E. June 01, 2015 for Model Number GU2400XTPS1 The last time I used the dishwasher it worked fine, at the end of the cycle the green clean light will come on and go off once the door has been opened and shut. Now the green light is constantly flashing and the dishwasher won't work. Is this a control panel issue? And does the console assembly have all the guts included if we buy a panel?
1 Answer Hello Jerry, This is an indication of a heating circuit failure if it is flashing seven times with a one second pause and seven flashes and a one second pause, etc. There are 5 components in this circuit that can cause issues: the heating element, the high limit thermostat, one of the door switches, the electronic control, and the wiring harness. First make sure the unit is properly leveled and secured to the cabinet/countertop. If all four feet are sharing the weight of the machine, the door should strike squarely and electrically "make" both door switches. If this is the case, check the components with an ohm meter and replace the component which reads open/no continuity. There is no test for the control board so it should be the last component suspected/replaced. If the seven flashes is not the case and the light is just on and off with no pause, this would indicate a stuck key on the control panel and it would then require replacement. Read More...
Nancy S. May 28, 2015 for Model Number GU2400XTPS0 We have a Whirlpool dishwasher, model # GU2400XTPS0, that had part of the button overlay crack and fall off. It is the section that covered the "Start" button. The panel is still functional, it just looks horrid. Is it possible to replace the overlay or do we have to replace the whole front panel?
1 Answer Nancy, With the overlay cracking you will need to replace the console on this unit. The overlay is not sold separately. The part number needed would be WP3385741. Read More...
Frank May 20, 2013 for Model Number GU3200XTPS3 The normal light steadily flashes and pushing cancel makes one line appear in the time remaining window. I have reset the unit but after reboot same thing. I have taken the main control board out and inspected it but see no signs of problems on the board i.e. burned out diodes or resistors or breaks in the electrical path. My gut tells me it is the control panel not the Main board but I want to verify before I end up buying both. Could it be the thermal fuse what are the signs of that burning out? Thanks.
1 Answer Frank, If the thermal fuse were to blow then there would be no display at all. If the normal wash light is continually flashing then the most likely cause is s a stuck keypad on the control panel. Read More...
Iñaki J April 30, 2013 for Model Number GU2400XTPS1 (Whirpool Quiet Partner III Dish Washer) The normal light some times is flashing and now the time remaining light is flashing and normal went off. The time shows half of number 1. Any ideas? Is it the main board or touchpad pannel problem?
1 Answer Hello Iñaki J. Based on the information you provided, the console assembly WP3385741 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Regina January 29, 2013 for Model Number GU2400XTPS7 The lights on the control panel keep flashing and dishwasher will not cut on; I have tried to reset the control panel by circuit breaker and power button no help. I have tried to cancel the cycle and rest; no help. The dishwasher was running fine until these lights starting flashing and now I can not get it to work; could this be an control panel problem?
1 Answer Hello Regina. Yes, depending on the lights flashing, it is usually and error code for a control panel failure. Read More...
Bonnie August 27, 2012 for Model Number GU2400XTPS7 I have this diswasher since 5/06. Few months ago, I noticed that the lights on the option panel were malfunctioned (Those green light became very dimmed and eventually no light). However, the dishwasher still work although I could only use the cycle button except the rinse only light not working. Yesterday, I couldn't even start a normal cycle when I pressed "start". I saw 2 dash (--) on time remaining. I still see the green light on the "normal" cycle button. we tried unplug the machine, resetting the circuit panel or using the option button to reset but none work. I noted some people have similar problem on this message board. I wonder if we fix it by replacing the control panel Item Number: AP3774276. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Bonnie. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the console WP3385741 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Wes July 15, 2012 for Model Number GU2400XTPB1 All of a sudden, the dishwasher will not start. If I press any of the "Cycles" button, the LEDs will not light. If I press the "Pots & Pans" button, no LED lights, but I can hear a motor briefly start up. All of the options button will light, however, and if I hit the "Cancel/Drain" button, I hear the same brief motor. Nothing happens with the start button. I tried resetting the panel using the High Temp Wash/Heated Dry/High Temp Wash/Heated Dry procedure and the diagnostic procedure started, but when it was finished nothing changed. I've also tried resetting the breaker to no avail. Is this the control panel or the logic board? Thanks
1 Answer Wes, It's most likely the control panel/keypad assembly WP3385741. We're also sending you the tech data so you can properly reset the control board. and conduct the keypad test mode. Thanks Read More...
John June 04, 2012 for Model Number whirlpool GU2400XTPB1 The glass express lights flashes and the washer will start in that mode but only for 2 minutes need turns off. The cancel button will not turn that light off. Is it my keypad or the mail power box
1 Answer Hello John. Test and see if you are loosing power. If not, it sounds like the console assembly WP3385741 is bad and will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Bob May 04, 2012 for Model Number GU2400XTPS3 I have, from what I gather, a common problem with some Whirlpool dishwashers. The dreaded flashing clean light(7x). This had occurred occasionally over the past year or two but would go away after using the reset button sequence. Lately, it has come back with a vengeance. Now, it occurs with every wash. To give a little more detail, the machine runs for a while, then stops in the middle of the cycle. I reset it and it then runs the rest of the cycle. So, I pulled the unit and proceeded to check some things on the bottom of the unit. The thermistor reading was 41.8K ohms @ about 80 degrees. The Hi-Limit thermostat read 0 ohms. The heater read about 10.9 ohms. The thermistor is slightly out of spec. It is supposed to be 48k-52K @ 77 deg. The heater is at the bottom of the the 10-35 ohm range. I also checked the latch's microswitches. They both are working. Then I checked the chopper assembly and screens and they are clear. Question 1. If these parts are OK, and I will have to look elsewhere to correct the issue like the control panel, would you replace any of the parts that need bottom access now to avoid having to remove the washer later for service? The thermistor isn't cheap but the heater is only about $24. Unit is 5 years old. Question 2. Where to next? I am into the door latch and control area. I am thinking that the only other thing could be the control board. Think I am on the right track? It is Friday, so I would like to get a parts order in today if possible. Thanks for any help. Bob
1 Answer Hello Bob. Based on the error code you provided, and the test you have done, it sounds like the control board WP8564547 is the issue with the unit. Make sure all the wiring is good on the unit before replacing the control board. If so, you will need to replace the control board. Read More...
