For Whirlpool Dishwasher Black Control Panel And Touchpad (Part Number: OEM18024777)

Hello Jerry, This is an indication of a heating circuit failure if it is flashing seven times with a one second pause and seven flashes and a one second pause, etc. There are 5 components in this circuit that can cause issues: the heating element, the high limit thermostat, one of the door switches, the electronic control, and the wiring harness. First make sure the unit is properly leveled and secured to the cabinet/countertop. If all four feet are sharing the weight of the machine, the door should strike squarely and electrically "make" both door switches. If this is the case, check the components with an ohm meter and replace the component which reads open/no continuity. There is no test for the control board so it should be the last component suspected/replaced. If the seven flashes is not the case and the light is just on and off with no pause, this would indicate a stuck key on the control panel and it would then require replacement.

Nancy, With the overlay cracking you will need to replace the console on this unit. The overlay is not sold separately. The part number needed would be WP3385741.

The normal light steadily flashes and pushing cancel makes one line appear in the time remaining window. I have reset the unit but after reboot same thing. I have taken the main control board out and inspected it but see no signs of problems on the board i.e. burned out diodes or resistors or breaks in the electrical path. My gut tells me it is the control panel not the Main board but I want to verify before I end up buying both. Could it be the thermal fuse what are the signs of that burning out? Thanks.

Frank, If the thermal fuse were to blow then there would be no display at all. If the normal wash light is continually flashing then the most likely cause is s a stuck keypad on the control panel.

I have this diswasher since 5/06. Few months ago, I noticed that the lights on the option panel were malfunctioned (Those green light became very dimmed and eventually no light). However, the dishwasher still work although I could only use the cycle button except the rinse only light not working. Yesterday, I couldn't even start a normal cycle when I pressed "start". I saw 2 dash (--) on time remaining. I still see the green light on the "normal" cycle button. we tried unplug the machine, resetting the circuit panel or using the option button to reset but none work. I noted some people have similar problem on this message board. I wonder if we fix it by replacing the control panel Item Number: AP3774276. Thank you.

All of a sudden, the dishwasher will not start. If I press any of the "Cycles" button, the LEDs will not light. If I press the "Pots & Pans" button, no LED lights, but I can hear a motor briefly start up. All of the options button will light, however, and if I hit the "Cancel/Drain" button, I hear the same brief motor. Nothing happens with the start button. I tried resetting the panel using the High Temp Wash/Heated Dry/High Temp Wash/Heated Dry procedure and the diagnostic procedure started, but when it was finished nothing changed. I've also tried resetting the breaker to no avail. Is this the control panel or the logic board? Thanks

Wes, It's most likely the control panel/keypad assembly WP3385741. We're also sending you the tech data so you can properly reset the control board. and conduct the keypad test mode. Thanks

Bob for Model Number GU2400XTPS3

I have, from what I gather, a common problem with some Whirlpool dishwashers. The dreaded flashing clean light(7x). This had occurred occasionally over the past year or two but would go away after using the reset button sequence. Lately, it has come back with a vengeance. Now, it occurs with every wash. To give a little more detail, the machine runs for a while, then stops in the middle of the cycle. I reset it and it then runs the rest of the cycle. So, I pulled the unit and proceeded to check some things on the bottom of the unit. The thermistor reading was 41.8K ohms @ about 80 degrees. The Hi-Limit thermostat read 0 ohms. The heater read about 10.9 ohms. The thermistor is slightly out of spec. It is supposed to be 48k-52K @ 77 deg. The heater is at the bottom of the the 10-35 ohm range. I also checked the latch's microswitches. They both are working. Then I checked the chopper assembly and screens and they are clear. Question 1. If these parts are OK, and I will have to look elsewhere to correct the issue like the control panel, would you replace any of the parts that need bottom access now to avoid having to remove the washer later for service? The thermistor isn't cheap but the heater is only about $24. Unit is 5 years old. Question 2. Where to next? I am into the door latch and control area. I am thinking that the only other thing could be the control board. Think I am on the right track? It is Friday, so I would like to get a parts order in today if possible. Thanks for any help. Bob

Hello Bob. Based on the error code you provided, and the test you have done, it sounds like the control board WP8564547 is the issue with the unit. Make sure all the wiring is good on the unit before replacing the control board. If so, you will need to replace the control board.
