Mell July 30, 2012 for Model Number 106.57036601 My ice maker quit crushing and dispensing ice. It can hear the motor running and I took the ice bin off the door and held the button in and pushed the dispenser and the screw still turned. We are thinking the coupling thread is striped and the screw won't catch them. I was going to go ahead and get the coupling and the screw that turns the coupling but not sure what that screw is and I do not know where my manuel is. Can you tell me what part number that screw is? It is for a Kenmore Coldspot 2007, and the model number is 106.57036601.
1 Answer Hello Mell! The coupling is part number W11629923 and the screw is part number WP8281164. Thanks! Read More...
Dlkrockpoppy March 24, 2012 for Model Number 106.57022601 Is this the cast metal coupling that is at the base of the ice bucket and that engages the hex shaft (AP5178127)? If so, there is a screw that holds it to the ice crusher. Is there a good way to remove the screw(It seems to be held in place with locktite) or is the retaining screw availabe and what is it's part? Thank you in advance!
1 Answer Hello, The screw WP8281164 is replaceable and is a right handed thread. If it is hard to remove it's because it has loctite on the threads. The new one comes with loctite on the threads as it is shown in our illustration. The WP2188917 is the hex shaft. The cast part W11629923 that meshes with the shaft is called the coupling.
