For Whirlpool Electronic Control Board (Part Number: OEM18040017)

Tj for Model Number KUDM01TJWH0

I replaced the Electronic control assembly about a month ago because I found where the com 2 connector plugs into the board was showing that it was burnt up on both sides. The original problem was that the dishwasher would try to work for a couple seconds then quit with the lights working and then it would shut off, now the only bottom that lights is the cancel button. Unless I unplug the ribbon, then and it will light for 20 seconds and then quit again. Please advise?

TJ, have you cleaned the insertion end of the ribbon with alcohol ? You may want to try that first, and reset the control board "HI TEMP SCRUB, AIR DRY, HI TEMP SCRUB, AIR DRY Or SANI RINSE, AIR DRY, SANI RINSE, AIR DRY (Note: HI TEMP SCRUB = HI TEMP SCOUR) (Note: AIR DRY = NO HEAT DRY = ENERGY SAVER DRY If the above key sequence is entered with the dishwasher in Standby, the Diagnostics Cycle is started. The Diagnostics Cycle can be rapid-advanced, interval by interval, by pressing the Pots&Pans/Heavy or Anti-Bacteria/Cookware or Start key. If your problem remains you should replace the control panel assembly WP8270226 next. Good Luck

Hello Mr. B. The control assembly is just the control board. Here is the part number for the user interface WP8270168 with the buttons. It would be wise to replace the ribbon cable WP8524447 as well. Hope this helps.
