Hello Kim. Make sure both the hot and cold water valve WP9724754 is working properly. This could be where the hum is coming from. If the hum is from the motor, replace the motor control board WP8541034. Hope this helps.

I have a whirlpool calypso washer. It does not complete its cycle. There is no error code on the display. When In Automatic Service Diagnostics Mode it will start and stop when the display is reading anywhere in between 80 seconds and one seconds (steps two through five in consumer services technical education manual L-67). I am thinking that it is the pump motor assembly, because in the steps indicated it is either recirculating or draining. When it is in normal wash mode the whole machine stalls, and then restarts. Please advise.

Les, You're on the right track, Check the drain pump for a clogged/stuck article, or replace it. " With an overfill condition, the beeper repeats a warning every 10 seconds with no time out. The pump is cycled in drain mode for 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off until the overfill switch resets or power is discontinued to the unit." The humming noise, should be the drain pump attempting to drain. 285990 Thanks and Good Luck

Ed, its a bit more involved : Removing the Pump and Pump Motor . 1. Disconnect power from the washing machine. 2. Carefully lay the washer on its back. 3. Remove the bottom panel secured to the washer frame. 4. Disconnect the pump motor wiring harness from the connector block attached to the front bottom frame rail. 4. Remove the two (2) clips securing the pump to the pump motor. 5. Remove the three (3) bolts securing the pump motor to the base plate. The start capacitor for the pump motor is attached to the pump motor housing. Thanks and Good Luck.

Berry, A couple of checks to make would be : The drain hose, make sure its not kinked or clogged. Check the overflow plug inside the outer tub assembly( you'll need to raise the top, and remove the tub cover to check) to make sure it was not damaged in the move. Check the water level air dome hoses for clogs or kinks, allowing the washer to overfill. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello Deana. Check and make sure nothing has clogged the pump. If it is clear and there is power there, you will need to change the pump. Hope this helps.

Hello Deana! Here is the information from our failure code link: LD failure code: Means Long drain: "Ld" flashes if it takes longer than 5 minutes to pump out water to a point where the operating pressure switch resets. Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display. Make sure that nothing is restricting the drain hoses or drain pump from draining properly. OB failure code: Means Off Balance: If the motor controller detects an unrecoverable off-balance condition, the machine controller will shut down and display an "ob" for off balance. The lid switch must be opened at least once before restarting the cycle, if this condition occurs. Opening the lid will allow you to view and redistribute the load. Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display. Make sure that the washer is not being overloading and the clotes are being distrubted evenly. Hope this information helps!
