Don C. April 12, 2013 for Model Number ADW35QRAW Dishwasher motor is running but dishwasher doesn't fill up. A small amount of soapy water comes up around the drain under the round screen in the middle of the washer floor which I removed. Could the problem be a pump or some part of a pump?
1 Answer Hello Don, If nothing is under the float switch, holding it up, and the voltage is getting to the water inlet valve WPR9800089, the water valve has failed. Read More...
Rosie November 06, 2012 for Model Number Mdb8551asw I have maytag quiet serries 300 and it began to smoke and it would flip the breaker. It finally stopped smoking and flipping the breaker but now it won't drain. Not sure if it's the drain pump? I checked the little air vent on top of the sink and it's clean. What could it be?
1 Answer Hello Rosie. The model number you provided is not working. Based on the information you provided, you need to check and see if the pump is burnt in the unit. If not, it sounds like the control board is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
Adrian July 06, 2012 for Model Number MDB6601AWB A little while into the wash, the dishwasher starts making a groaning noise and doesnt seem to be moving much water through the sprayarms, and leaves sand size residue on dishes. After checking obstructions inside the unit, blocked spray arms, etc, I noticed that water was slowly emptying out of the drain into the disposer while it washed. I pulled the unit out to make sure the drain hose traveled up high before it entered the disposer; it does. I snaked the hose to make sure there was nothing partially blocking it, causing a vacuum; nothing. While I had the drain hose off, I wiped the flapper and the area where it seats even though those areas were clean, after which I ran a cycle and it performed perfectly. But the next cycles, it was back to not performing, and draining out during wash. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Adrian. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the drain pump is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
Toan303 June 12, 2012 for Model Number Mdbm601aws Hello I have a Amanda quite series 300 (model MDBM601AWS) and I've been reading some threads here about other people having similar problem with this washer leaving a few inches of water on the bottom of the washer after loads. So I Order a new drain pump part number (6-917641) it came today installed it and it still doing the same problem. I also checked the drain hoes if it's cloged but it's fine, so does anyone here Have Solution please help. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Toan303. Check and see if the water in the drain pipe is backing up and not allowing the dishwasher to drain out the water. If so, you will need to clean out the drain pipe. If the sink is draining fine, and is not backing up, you will need to replace the drain hose WP99002652 on the unit. Before replacing the drain hose, remove it from the sink and drain the unit into a bucket and see if the water comes out strong. If not, and the pump is running, the drain hose will need to be replaced. Read More...
Airlair3 May 29, 2012 for Model Number mdb8600awb I'm left with water in the bottom of the dishwasher after every load. Replaced the drain hose. Could it be the flapper backflow not working properly or the pump? Also if I need to replace the pump does the new pump come with a new flapper valve? I noticed that the flapper valve is sold seperately. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Airlair. If the hose is new, and there is water in the bottom after a wash cycle, it sounds like the pump WP6-917641 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. The new drain pump does come with the flapper. Read More...
Ed Walker April 28, 2012 for Model Number mdbh945aww The machine allows clean water to slowly seep in between uses. I have been advised that Flordia's quality water has created deposits in the control valve. I believe the part I need is the drain pump AP43642336, but need to confirm as it is the clean water coming in. -- please confirm. Thanks
1 Answer Ed, Your post description indicates that the water inlet/fill valve W11082871 is the issue, not the drain pump. Deposits and debris in the water/plumbing accumulate on the diaphram in the fill valve and allow the water to "seap" through the valve and into the tub. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Gene January 20, 2012 for Model Number MDB8600AWW The water wasn't draining, so we purchased a new pump. Now when we plug it in, the pump runs all the time. What could the problem be?
1 Answer Hello Gene. Check and make sure the float is not stuck and the switch for the float is good and not causing the pump WP6-917641 to stay on. Hope this helps. Read More...

Todd July 24, 2011 for Model Number maytag mdb9600awb Our dishwasher pump is running noisy and I noticed that the output at the disposal has decreased. I removed the drain hose and checked for obstructions, it is clear. At the end of the cycle, there is approx 1 inch of water left in the tub. I saw the previous question about the appropriate amount of water remaining after the cycle is complete and believe I have too much. Pump replacement? Thanks.
