Jim July 06, 2011 for Model Number Zdi15cwwd I replaced the control board about 18 months ago. It just stopped making ice again. Water is pumping and the compressor appears to be working. I foolishly let the compressor get fully covered with thick dust. Do you think that caused the control panel to fail?
1 Answer Hello Jim. You will need to check and make sure the compressor is running. If so, check and see if the filter drier W10843121 is getting warm. If not, you may have a bad reversing valve 2208467 on the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
Jimslax June 29, 2011 for Model Number kuis185jbl2 My icemaker appears to be making ice, but the part that cuts the ice into square cubes doesn't appear to be working. I took the entire unit out above the bin and cleaned all parts and then put back together. All wiring appears to be attached correctly. What could I be missing? Cutter worked before I cleaned the system.
1 Answer Hello Jimslax. You will need to test the grid cutter WP2313637 and see if it is good. It should read closed for continuity. If it is good, you will need to replace the transformer WP2185657. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jim S. June 27, 2011 for Model Number kuis185jbl2 When I initially turn my icemaker on, it makes ice for about 20 minutes. Then it automatically goes into clean mode. Anyway, the cleaning light comes on, and it quits making ice. I have tried cleaning the unit per manual instructions, but no difference. What else could be the problem???
1 Answer Hello Jim. If you let the unit go through a complete cleaning cycle, and it still wants to go into clean mode, you will need to replace the control board WP2304016. Hope this helps. Read More...
Rick June 21, 2011 for Model Number kuia18nnjs5 Water circulation pump went out. Before repair guy changed it out, the water valve, interior light, control panel and chiller plate all worked. It just would not circulate water. Repair guy changed circulation pump today. After he put everything back together, he turned it on and the light came on for a second and then it tripped the breaker on the circuit in the house. I told him to stop and leave for the day. I just pulled it out of the cabinets, took the inside apart and it appears that everything had been reinstalled properly. But now there is no apparent power to anything. Help. Is there a fuse or breaker in the unit. Why would it have tripped the house breaker for that circuit.
1 Answer Hello Rick. It sounds like the control board WP2304016 is bad and will need to be replaced. You will need to make sure none of the wires are pinched and the unit is installed correctly. There is something on the unit that is grounding out. Hope this helps. Read More...
Jim May 07, 2011 for Model Number g11500hx3 Free standing ice maker ...Is not short on gas , water flows, plate gets cold, makes very little ice. The problem is the fan works when you first turn it on ...But then shuts off and then does not cool down the radiatior. It creates to much heat and keeps melting the ice that was made untill the ice completely melts and is gone. I have by passed the fan and tried this .. I have a small fan I put in front of the radiator (not the one in the unit it self ) but a different one i had lying around the house ....And guess what it makes ice like it was brand new....My question, what is causing the fan to not come on in the unit itself? Its almost like the timing is off for the fan in the unit....Is this caused by a problem in the control boad ?
1 Answer Hello Jim. You will need to test and see if your losing power to the fan motor, or if the fan motor is bad and shutting down. If your losing power, you will need to replace the control board. If there is power there, but the fan does not run, you will need to replace the fan motor W10124096. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

David April 17, 2011 for Model Number GI1500XHB3 Hello. I have whirlpool ice maker. The pump circulates and the compressor runs, but the ice plate stays warm and the inside stays hot. is the control panel out? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello David. You will need to check and see if the compressor W10309988 is running. If it is not running, then see if there is power coming to the compressor. If there is no power coming to the compressor, then the control board could be bad. If there is power at the compressor and the compressor is running, then you may have a sealed system problem. Hope this helps. Read More...
Randy April 14, 2011 for Model Number KUIA15NRHS5 Answers: yes the resevoir is filled with water. When I turn the unit on the resevoir gets filled, the condenser turns on (runs) the freezing plate gets cold, the grid plate gets warm, and aprox 10 miutes into operation no water flowes over the freezing plate.
1 Answer Hello Randy. You will need to test and see if your getting 120 volts to the pump assembly WP2217220. If there is power there, but the unit is not pumping water, you will need to replace the pump. Hope this helps. Read More...

2 Answers Randy, Does the ice maker fill the reservoir with water ? after a couple/few minutes ? I wouldn't start by repalcing the control board, You should start by making sure you have water to the fill valve, that the valve opens and lets water into the unit and fills the reservoir, and that the recirculating pump start to run constantly approximately 10 minutes after the unit has been started. This is not as simple machine as you'd think, it has several components and controls that make it operate. Thanks Read More...
