This replacement part is a control board for an ice maker. Control boards serve as the main computer that controls the functions of the ice machine. Before installing this part, unplug the ice maker and pull it away from the wall. Then unthread screws of the access cover to the control panel. Use a putty knife to pry the cover off and proceed to remove the screws securing the top panel. Use a nut driver to remove the rear panel. Lift the top panel up and have someone hold it upright. Remove the screws that hold the control housing on the top panel. Once control housing has been released, remove the screws securing the grounding wire to set the panel aside. Then with a Phillips head screwdriver, unthread the screws that hold the control board. Depress the tab to release the board. Note the orientation of the wire connectors and disconnect them from the board. Re-secure the wire connectors to their correct terminals and pop the new control board back in place. Reinstall the panels that were removed. This genuine replacement part is a control board compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand ice machines.

Hello Jim. You will need to check and make sure the compressor is running. If so, check and see if the filter drier W10843121 is getting warm. If not, you may have a bad reversing valve 2208467 on the unit. Hope this helps.

Water circulation pump went out. Before repair guy changed it out, the water valve, interior light, control panel and chiller plate all worked. It just would not circulate water. Repair guy changed circulation pump today. After he put everything back together, he turned it on and the light came on for a second and then it tripped the breaker on the circuit in the house. I told him to stop and leave for the day. I just pulled it out of the cabinets, took the inside apart and it appears that everything had been reinstalled properly. But now there is no apparent power to anything. Help. Is there a fuse or breaker in the unit. Why would it have tripped the house breaker for that circuit.

Hello Rick. It sounds like the control board WP2304016 is bad and will need to be replaced. You will need to make sure none of the wires are pinched and the unit is installed correctly. There is something on the unit that is grounding out. Hope this helps.

Free standing ice maker ...Is not short on gas , water flows, plate gets cold, makes very little ice. The problem is the fan works when you first turn it on ...But then shuts off and then does not cool down the radiatior. It creates to much heat and keeps melting the ice that was made untill the ice completely melts and is gone. I have by passed the fan and tried this .. I have a small fan I put in front of the radiator (not the one in the unit it self ) but a different one i had lying around the house ....And guess what it makes ice like it was brand new....My question, what is causing the fan to not come on in the unit itself? Its almost like the timing is off for the fan in the unit....Is this caused by a problem in the control boad ?

Hello Jim. You will need to test and see if your losing power to the fan motor, or if the fan motor is bad and shutting down. If your losing power, you will need to replace the control board. If there is power there, but the fan does not run, you will need to replace the fan motor W10124096. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello David. You will need to check and see if the compressor W10309988 is running. If it is not running, then see if there is power coming to the compressor. If there is no power coming to the compressor, then the control board could be bad. If there is power at the compressor and the compressor is running, then you may have a sealed system problem. Hope this helps.

Randy, Does the ice maker fill the reservoir with water ? after a couple/few minutes ? I wouldn't start by repalcing the control board, You should start by making sure you have water to the fill valve, that the valve opens and lets water into the unit and fills the reservoir, and that the recirculating pump start to run constantly approximately 10 minutes after the unit has been started. This is not as simple machine as you'd think, it has several components and controls that make it operate. Thanks
