  • Enables precise cycle and option changes
  • Common symptoms: knob turns but lights don't follow, random/incorrect selection, can't select a cycle, won't start
What's included

Install notes
  • Disconnect power to the washer before servicing
  • Access the control console and remove the knob/dial to reach the encoder
  • Note orientation, unplug the harness, release tabs/screws, and swap in the new encoder
  • Handle electronics carefully and avoid static discharge; verify knob-to-light tracking before reassembly

Raymond, It would be recommended to get the tech sheet from inside the front of the washer to see if there are any error codes. This issue sounds like it would be caused by the control board which has the pressure switch built into it.

Lee, many of the newer washers are energy-efficient and work differently than the older models. Your washer will only give you a certain hot temperature, it is not what is coming out of your water heater and your washer will add cold water to bring the temperature up to a cooler temperature, thus making it conserve energy. There is no way to override this, it is the way the washer is programmed.

Will, This unit actually has an electronic control board instead of a timer and the lid locks on the unit as it runs. We can send you a service sheet and you can follow instructions on getting the unit into service mode to read the fault codes. Don't skim over the tech sheet or it is difficult to understand. Read the whole section of entering service mode and then go into fault code mode and start there.

Hello Pete, your washer came with a Diagnostic Test sheet, It is located on the inside front panel near the top in a plastic bag. Use it to run the test mode for any fault codes if no codes show then run the calibration cycle to reset the control board. This model does not use much hot water normally as it is considered an energy saver model.

Rick, You have and will need a tech sheet for this issue. Yours is located under the top assembly inside the cabinet on the front left top. When you locate your tech sheet you will need to follow instructions to enter the service mode. 1. Turn the cycle selector knob until the status LEDs or display correspond as follows: only “Wash, Rinse, and Done” LEDs On or “13” Displayed on 7-segment (if exists). 2. Press the START button once. 3. The washer should not automatically restart and all LEDs should be turned OFF. 4. Unplug the washer or disconnect power. Wait 10 seconds and reconnect power. If the washer does not automatically start, you are done. 5. If the washer automatically starts again within 10 seconds, repeat the process. This could solve your issue if the unit thinks it is in a continuous test mode. If nothing changes use your tech sheet and check for fault codes to detect the problem.

Lazar, You will want to pull the unit out from the wall. Make sure that the unit is unplugged and water shut off. You will then remove the cover that is over the back of the control panel. Once removed the take the knob of the temp switch, unplug the connector and rotate the temp switch to remove. There should be a locking tab that you lift to turn the switch.

Dennis, you may want to ensure that the pre-soak selection has not been turned on as this can cause a delay in agitation. From there, you may want to check to ensure that the lid seated fully and is engaging the lock assembly. If the lid is seated fully, then you will want to unplug the washer and do a lid lock test to ensure that the lock assembly W11307244 is operating properly. At connection J6 on the control board, the lid lock can be tested at pin 2 to pin 3 for continuity. These pins should have continuity when the lid is closed and no continuity when the lid is opened. You can then test the same pins for resistance and it should have between 85 to 155 ohms. If the readings are not within this range, then the lock has failed. If the lock tests good, based on the information described, then it is likely that the main control W11116590 is not responding to selections properly.
