Mike October 02, 2013 for Model Number 12656018 Got the humidity slide bar out. Can't figure out how to put it back onto the end cap
Don B September 09, 2013 for Model Number JFC2089HES The left side end cap (the opposite side from the temperature display) snapped off where it attaches to the cover? What part do I need and how to replace?
1 Answer Don, The part that you would need is the endcap part number WP12656105. To replace this part you will need to remove the crisper drawers and the glass over the pantry assembly. There will be 3 screws 1/4" hex head that you will have to remove then slide forward and out. Once out you will need to remove the rail. The rail will be held in by 2 screws and you will have to slide the rail forward to access the screws. One of the screws will have to be accessed through a hole in the rail. Read More...
Mark July 09, 2013 I'm trying to replace part #12656018 on my maytag refridgerator and can't figure out how to get to humidity control slide bar out. I don't want to break it so is there an east way to remove it.
1 Answer Mark, When you pull the end cap off, at the back of the endcap there is a clip that holds the back part of the control in place. You will need to pop this piece out of place and on the back of the endcap release the tabs that hold the slide control bar in place. Rotate the control arm to take off the control slide. Once off you just pop the slide out of place from the bottom. Read More...

Fred Genter November 30, 2012 for Model Number Amana fridge ARB8057CSR The peg on the right side pantry door support track which secures the pantry lid of my unit broke off. So I need to replace the right-hand shelf support/endcap. (1) This is part AP4456441 (mfg number 12656018), correct? (2) As I understand it, a beginner with no training can easily make this replacement, using only a screwdriver, correct? This piece houses a temperature control slide. Is it relatively simple to transfer the old temperature control slide. Anything I should know? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Fred, you are correct, WP12656018 is the correct part and this is a simple repair. Just pay attention how you take the old one out and the new one will go back in the same way. A screwdriver should be all that is needed. Hope this helps! Read More...
E J P. November 02, 2012 for Model Number Jenn-air refrigerator Model Number JFC 2089 HPY. I need to replace the Right End Cap that supports the pantry drawer. This is Whirlpool part number 12656020. Is this a difficult replacement? It appears that this part just snaps into place, is that correct? How do I remove the old End Cap? I am using this part on a Jenn-air refrigerator Model Number JFC 2089 HPY. Where can I find instructions to make this replacement? Thank you for your help.
1 Answer Hello E J The end cap does not just snap into place. There should be 3 screws that are 1/4' hex head to remove. Once you remove the screws then you will transfer parts from old endcap over to new endcap. Read More...
J.Y. August 10, 2012 for Model Number AP4451684 How do i detach this part from the one holding it to the back of the fridge ? Thank you.
1 Answer J.Y. , There shouldn't be anything holding the side support track to the back wall. They are mounted to the side walls with screws> once you remove the pntry drawer and shelf glass, you will need to "unsnap" the metal side rails and slide them out of the support, then you'll have to remove the screws, under the metal rails. The right side support, with the adjustment lever, will have a shifter rod, that attaches toi the air shutter on the back wall, but that is just a snap on/off fit. Thanks Read More...
Mike June 20, 2012 for Model Number ARB8057CC I want to replace this part AP4456441, but I don't know how to remove the Knob (part 20)? Thanks
1 Answer Mike, you'll need to remove the drawer, lid and glass shelf from the end caps. Once you have the glides and mounting screwws removed you can carefully move the end cap away from the wall. You'll need to disconnect the control bar from the control slide in the rear corner of the cabinet, then you can remove the end cap and remove the slide control knob. Good Luck Read More...
