The Ice Maker Wiring Harness is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This part ensures electrical connectivity between the ice maker and the refrigerator's power supply, facilitating the various functions required for ice production. The wiring harness is key to the ice maker's operation, transmitting power and sensor signals that govern the ice-making cycle, including water filling, freezing, and ejecting ice into the bin.

Causes of a bad Ice Maker Wiring Harness can include physical damage from overextension or pinching, corrosion due to moisture exposure, and wear over time that leads to electrical failures.

Symptoms of a bad wiring harness include:

  • Ice maker unit not operating or defective icemaking
  • Malfunctions and error codes displayed relating to harness faults
  • Physical cracks or splits in wires or connectors

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

For Whirlpool Ice Maker Wiring Harness (Part Number: OEM18043803)

James for Model Number D7824706Q

I have ordered a replacement icemaker (1110702A) for my refrigerator. However the harness that was supplied with the new icemaker does not fit with my fridge (D7824706Q) the connector inside my fridge has male connectors as does the replacement harness. Is this part going to work with my fridge going to the new icemaker? Everything I can find on the subject suggests I must have the original harness. Either this harness is hardwired, or i threw the old harness away when i disposed of the old icemaker some years ago.

James, if the model number for your refrigerator could be provided in a new question, this will allow the most accurate information to be presented.

Anna, The arm is either bent or not all the way in place, flex it a bit to see if it will work freely.

Mike for Model Number GX5SHDXVQ01

I'm attempting to replace the ice maker on my Whirlpool refrigerator, model GX5SHDXVQ01. I need the wire harness. The original part number was D7813611. (Many sources tell me that has been replaced with D7813610.) The replacement harnesses I have received, though, is slightly different. On the end of the harness that is supposed to plug into the back of the freezer, the metal pegs inside the connector on the original part are flat. On the replacement harnesses I have received from other sellers, those metal pegs inside the connector are round and hollow. Does the harness you offer come with flat/male connectors that will fit my freezer? Thanks.

Mark for Model Number 106.53522300 Kenmore

I just bought a new icemaker. It looks exactly like the one it's replacing. It came with a wiring harness, but I will have to use the existing harness as it is hard wired in. The vendor told me that I will have to use the existing harness. When I compare the 2 harnesses side by side I noticed that the black and white wires were in opposite positions on the plug on the existing harness compared to the new harness. Will I need to change the wires on the old harness to make this new icemaker work? Thanks

Hello Mark, yes you would have to modify the existing (hardwired) wire harness/terminals to match the replacement ice maker for it to work correctly.

Ed, The next step I would recommend would be the icemaker switch at the freezer door and the inline fuse in the icemaker harness and basically the wiring from the p3 to the ice maker.

Hello Jay, Before doing anything to the icemaker you need to verify that the temperature in the compartment is running between 0°F and 10°F. If it is not below 20°F, the icemaker will never cycle. If it is down to temperature and the harvest fingers are not obstructed, the issue is most likely the cycling thermostat inside the icemaker assembly WPW10251076.

Dennis, If the thermal fuse is open then it must have stuck with the heater on. I would recommend replacing the ice maker with a new harness.

Hello Tony, If you are unable to reuse the original harness you might be able to use W10146387 if it will fit. The icemaker end will be the same on all of these. The end that connects to the units' harness at the rear wall would be the one that may or may not work.

Hello Johnita, I'm sorry but we will need to ask you to please post a new question including the verified model number from the units' I.D. tag since the one provided will not come up for us as a valid model number. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.
