Sheila July 31, 2016 for Model Number LE7010XSNO I have an older Whirlpool electric driver. It takes a long time to dry. Is this an easy fix? If so, what do I need?
1 Answer Hello Shelia. If the unit is heating, It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Read More...
Bigibigs March 22, 2016 for Model Number LER7646EQO My dryer has 4 wires ....2 go to thermostat and 2 go to heat element....does this mean I dont have to use included jumper wire??
Joseph February 16, 2016 for Model Number LEQ9858PW I bought a new heating coil and the Dryer thermal cutoff kit but it came with the type that attached to the connector. I have looked at the video and the one has a split er it has a red wire and an orange wire . My wires are 2 wire both red and no orange wire. Do I need another type of wiring setup ?
1 Answer Joseph, The way that wiring is run to the thermal cutoff and to the heater is, the red wire coming from the timer goes to one side of the thermal cutoff, then you have a jumper wire that will go between the thermal fuse and attaches to the high limit thermostat and then from the high limit will have a jumper from there to the heater terminal. Audrey January 15, 2016 for Model Number 11066662501 First the dryer would not stop when I would open the door . Now the dryer is not heating
1 Answer Audrey, The dryer not stopping when the door is opened will typically be a faulty door switch. For he issue of the unit not heating you will want to check to see if there is 240 vac getting to the heater. If there is not then test the thermostats and thermal fuse to make sure that they are not blown. There are 2 components other than the thermostats which would cause the heating element not to work. First is the motor and second the timer. The best option is to disconnect the power to the unit and access the heating element. Disconnect one wire that is going to the heating element, preferably the one on the thermostat side. Plug the unit back up and using a multimeter you will want to turn the dryer on and test for 120 vac at the terminal on the heater where the wire was disconnected. What this will do is eliminate the heater element itself and the motor. If there is 120 vac at this point then you know the heater is good and the motor is good because the other 120 vac coming through the thermostats is the timer side of the circuit. If there is not 120 vac at that point then you will want to test the other terminal on the heater and check for 120 vac. If there is not 120 vac then the motor would be bad . Read More...

Stefan W. May 09, 2015 for Model Number TEA600 green wire hanging off back of dryer. ground wire goes to what?
1 Answer Stefan, The green ground wire, where is it located ? if it's near or in the terminal block area, it could be loose or hanging because of a four wire power cord that has an independent ground wire and the ground wire would be disconnected from the cabinet grounding screw. You'd also want to check and make sure the green ground wire is attached to the center white terminal on the terminal block if a three wire power cord is used. Read More...
Ed April 17, 2015 for Model Number MDE3758AYW Maybe I was not clear. The wire leading to the heating element is what is burned...not the heating element.. I am wondering if the wire you sell in your repair kit for this exact situation is made from a special wire to act similar to a fuseable link or or is it standard wire see below original question: Is the heating element conecting wire made of special wire? The one on the lower side of my dryer had burned and came loose. I want to order the replacment for this but also want to be able to use it in the meantime. Can I use a normal 16 gauge wire and a wire nut with a new high temp spade clip for a short while? I am also going to order a new belt and replace the drum slides while I am in there since its ready for them. Thanks, Ed Ed for Model Number mde3758ayw Answer Ed, Unfortunately you would not want to try to use a 16 or any other wire to use the unit for the time being. This would be a safety hazard doing this and the wire would melt as it would get too... show more Read more: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-heating-element-connecting-279457-ap3134638.html#ixzz3XcjmiQbd http://www.appliancepartspros.com
1 Answer Ed, You would not want to use normal 16 gauge wire as it has to be high temp wire which is what the heating element connector wire is made of. If you use regular 16 gauge wire that is not high temp then it will simply melt the insulation off and cause a possible arching issue. Read More...

Loretta April 10, 2015 for Model Number LET6634AWO Still not clear. Can I use part #AP3134638 to replace the spade end section of one of the red wires running to the thermal cut off which has 600V Dixiewire style 1015 or 1230 written on it? (One of the wires has a white stripe and runs down to the cycling thermostat. That one is ok). Thanks
1 Answer Loretta, Yes, this heating element connecting wire 279457 should work for the replacement of the spade end connector running to the thermal cut off. Read More...
