John August 01, 2016 for Model Number SVD48600P Are there 1 or 2 door hinges. How many in the package?
William B December 06, 2012 for Model Number SVD48600P I installed a 2 new door hinges and 2 receivers on this Jenn air gas range. Door operates, but does not close up tight. I do not see a way to do any adjustment. I bought the receivers because I was told that they had changed and would help the door to close tighter. Any Ideas on this . I can tell the door seal is pushed in at the bottom and not at all at the top. Thanks
1 Answer Hello William. The door should not close extremely tight. As long as the light is going out, the door is closing fine. It has to let air circulate to cook the food properly inside the unit. Read More...
Joseph H November 13, 2012 for Model Number SVD48600P Hello I ordered a door hinge awhile back and was wondfering if there is any trick to putting it in? Any help would be appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Joseph, To replace the hing assembly you will need to open the door at 45 degree angle and lift out of hinge receiver. You then want to remove panel from door which should have screws at top of door and bottom. Remove screws holding in the hinge and replace hinge. Reinstall in reverse. Read More...
Ron October 07, 2012 for Model Number Model SVD48600P Are there instructions provided for instillation and is it difficult to do?
1 Answer Ron, We're sending you the information you requested. It's not that difficult a repair to perform. You will need a couple of 1/8 in 8 penny finish nails to insert into the openings to "lock" the door and hinge assembly in place to remove the door and hinge. Depending on your issue, you may also need to consider repalcing the hinge receptacles WP71002206 . Read More...
Scott May 29, 2012 for Model Number SVD48600P I bought the door hinges from you some years ago as part number AP368960 on order #258878, but they do not work well so I want to replace them. Now I see they are available much more expensively as part number AP4089724. Are the parts different? Were the previous parts made by a 3rd party supplier instead of Whirlpool?
1 Answer Scott, Nothing major has changed, the hinges are still produced by the same manufacturer, smae process and parts. If, This time, you replace the hinge assemblies, also replace the receptacles WP71002206. This will help insure the proper hinge operation and spring tension and prolong the life of the hinge system, and proper door closure for quite some time. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
