John K January 01, 2017 I bought 2 of these hinges in November. Installing them was no problem and the door closed perfectly. All of a sudden this week its staying open again, its open far enough to where the oven light stays on all the time where before iit was just slightly ajar. I pulled the door back off and cant see anything obvious that would keep it open. Any suggestions? Thanks.
1 Answer John, It sounds as though the springs may have been bad and would need to replace the hinges. Also check the door liner to make sure that the liner is warped which could also cause this. Read More...
Chris March 19, 2016 for Model Number RBD305PDQ11 I ordered a hinge to replace and it did not match the hinge that I took out. I've checked other websites and they show the same hinge in their pics. Not sure what the next step is?
1 Answer Hello Chris. Maybe you need the hinge for the upper door which is part number WP4455525. Hope this helps. Read More...
Mikel October 17, 2014 for Model Number RBD305PDB11 I need help removing top door from oven. The owners manual says "Insert short end of door removal pins, included with the oven, into both hinge hangers. Two B\cx in. (4 mm) allen wrenches or two nails of similar diameter can be used if door removal pins have been misplaced. Do not remove the pins while the door is removed. I have looked at the door. I do not see any "removal" pins. I can send a pic if needed. There is a pin, but there is no place to put an allen wrench.
1 Answer Hello Mikel, Some of these units have no holes at all and the procedure to remove the door is simply to clamp on a pair of vise grips. When you try to pick the door up this will allow you to slip the hinges from the hinge receivers for door removal. Be sure when putting the vise grips on the hinges not to put them too close to the oven front frame to avoid chipping any enamel. The vise grips can be removed one the door is removed from the unit but they will have to be put back on the same way with the hinges pulled down to the open position, (watch your fingers!). This will enable you to slip the hinge arms back into the hinge receivers properly. Read More...
Mike October 24, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool RBD305PDQ10 I have to repeat the same question with respect to the difference between p/n 4455525 and p/n 4455523... what is the actual functional difference? Despite some documentation saying these are for models with two different finishes, Whirlpool parts list for my double oven says the 4455525 is for upper doors and 4455523 is for lower doors; it's all finished white. I replaced hinges on both doors back in May with the Whirlpool respective specified part numbers. The hinges actually looked the same to me, except the springs were a little different color. I don't really know what the outer finish of the oven would have to do with the two part numbers since you can't see the hinges once installed. In any event, now just 5 months later the lower door is not closing all the way again, so I'm wondering if there is some sort of difference in the tension/strength of the springs in the two parts? And might using the 4455525 part on the lower doors help I have also seen posts elsewhere from professional appliance repair people saying they have seen repeated quick failures of these hinges and weren't getting any help from Whirlpool.
1 Answer Hello Mike! Unfortunately, we do not have the specs available to verify the exact difference in the two door hinges listed for this model. I do apologize for the inconvenience. Read More...
