Glenn August 04, 2013 for Model Number WhirlPool My icemaker control module is dripping water in the the front section of the module. I replaced the water filter but it continues to drip water.
1 Answer Hello Glenn, If water is getting into the ice maker control module, you will need to replace the ice maker assembly WPW10190972 since the ice mold is no longer water tight. When installing the new ice maker, you should use a small bubble level to insure the assembly is level front to rear. Read More...
Steve B July 27, 2013 for Model Number KSCS25INSS01 Fridge is a Kitchenaid. Everything was working fine until the ice bin was removed for cleaning and then reinstalled, Since then it no longer makes ice. This model icemaker does not use a control arm but apparently uses a control beam. I've noticed a flashing red light (next to the ice maker control). Is this a diagnostic signal? If so what does it mean? Help
1 Answer Steve, Yes, the blinking LED on the control panel could be an error code : 1. Open the freezer door > Two (2) pulses followed by a one (1)second delay (repeated). > The flapper door on the emitter is blocking the beam.> 2. Press in the emitter flapper door to unblock the optics beam.> Two (2) pulses followed by a one (1) second delay (repeated).> The Optics are faulty. > Replace the emitter and receiver boards. > LED is on steadily. > The Optics are working properly >Close the freezer door. The emitter board kit W11629974 is the most likely issue. Read More...
Bob July 07, 2013 for Model Number gs6shaxks01 I have no water in the ice maker. I have replaced the water inlet valve. I have tried the jump v and l to get the water to flow nothing. What's next?
1 Answer Hello Bob. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. Make sure the emitter boards W11629974 are good. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Efrain H June 16, 2013 for Model Number 106.55539400 Sears Coldspot refrigerator: Noticed about a month ago that it was dispensing ice periodically only, instead of regularly. Then it stopped dispensing ice altogether. Then about two weeks ago, began dispensing ice again, albeit periodically. Now, has stopped dispensing ice completely again. It is getting water (I installed a heated water tube several years ago to stop the freezing of the water line) and there are ice cubes in the tray, but it won't dispense. I suspect the icemaker control module -- maybe -- or some electronic issue. I'm very handy at repairs but not so much at troubleshooting, so your help would be appreciated.
1 Answer Efrain, It is possible that if the icemaker is not working that the issue could be the module, thermostat on the icemaker or the emitter board. When the icemaker is not working you can check to see if the light on the right side wall of the freezer compartment. If the light flashes then push in on the flapper on the left side and if it continues to flash then the emitter board is bad and if it glows solid then the emitter board shows good. You will then want to check the motor module for any burn marks. Check for the center wheel on the motor to make sure that the pins are not broken. Read More...

Peter May 30, 2013 Sir: The icemaker on my Whirlpool refridgerator was acting erratic the last couple of months.......it stopped making ice but when I would move the shutoff arm up and down a couple of times, the water valve would open and fill the ice trays. It would work as it should for a week then it would quit making ice again. I REPLACED the CONTROL MODULE (p/n W10190935) per video instructions. With the new control module installed, the water valve DOES NOT open to allow water to flow into the ice trays. I moved the shutoff arm up and down a couple of times to no avail. Can you help me with my problem? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Peter. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. Dave May 13, 2013 Need a replacement ice control module for a Crosley refrigerator. Found part number W10190935 on you web site. Can you let me know if it well replace IM# S 106 626640. It appears to be the same from the picture.
1 Answer Dave, without a model number of the refrigerator or a manufacturing number off the ice maker, that's a bit difficult. If this is a Whirlpool "heat release" ice maker, the manufacturer has used the same control module for decades, so the W10190935 will most likely work. 106.626640 or S106 626640 is neither a model number or part number according to our parts or service diagrams. Nina April 23, 2013 for Model Number ed25tqxfw01 My ice maker works great. The water side works just great. However, when you press on the arm to dispense ice nothing happens. Would this be the micro-switch or the switch that is attached to the front panel? Is it something else?
1 Answer Hello Nina. You will need to test the micro switch and test for power to the auger motor. If there is power there, and the motor does not run, you will need to order and replace the auger motor in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
