Hello John. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Hello Charles, This is most likely a frozen defrost drain. Remove the rear cover from the freezer compartment and use a hair dryer to get the ice build-up from the drain area. Once the ice is removed, use a piece of weedeater line to chase the drain. Once hot water that you pour into the drain willl drain into the defrost pan from the area, put one tablespoon of white vinegar into the drain to kill any bacteria that may be causing algae to form.

Mary, When you jumped T to H, this bypasses the thermostat to allow the icemaker to cycle. The issue would be a faulty thermostat rather than a control module issue. The icemaker thermostat is part number WP627985 and you would also want alumilastic cement WP4317852 which would need a small drop applied to the side of the thermostat that meets up with the icemaker mold.

Hello Mary, Since jumping "T" to "H" is bypassing the ice maker thermostat WP627985, this would be the reason the ice maker will not cycle on its' own. Be sure to put thermal mastic on it so the temperature will be properly transfered to the thermostat. Thermal mastic is another name for what Whirlpool calls alumilastic cement WP4317852.

Ron, Because the icemaker overfilled, the icemaker will not eject the ice. You will need to remove the icemaker and clear the ice out because the fingers cannot rotate enough to turn on the heater to allow the ice to eject from the mold. Once this is done then you will want to cycle the icemaker and check to see if the same situation happens again. It sounds like it could be the valve sticking open.
