Mike July 12, 2012 I have a new pump on my whirlpool icemaker although my tray does not fill with water or go through any motions, could it be my control module or something else?
1 Answer Hello Mike. Depending on the model number, it can be a bad icemaker, ice stuck in the fingers, bad water valve, or bad sensors. If the icemaker cycles, you will test for power to the water valve and make sure the fill tube is not frozen. If it does not cycle, make sure no ice is stuck. If no, and your model does not use sensors, replace the icemaker. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Mggriff July 11, 2012 for Model Number Kenmore, M/N:106.55539400 S/N:SR5036005 I purchased a Supco #IMM8366 icemaker module head after dicovering that there was a burnt spot on the cir board for the heater. installed new module. doesnt work, jumped out between T and H, nothing. checked for 120V between L and N, only have 57.2V. removed ice maker, checked for power on the wiring harness in the frig, between black and white or black and green, still only getting 57.2v. frig is working and making temp. where am I lossing power? THANKS
1 Answer Mggriff, The more likely issue is the I/R sensor system W11629974 First make sure the freezer interior light operates properly, and the freezer door closes and seals. 1 Answer Hello Dick, There could be a set of electrical contacts in the ice maker motor module W10190935 burned but this could also be a bad water inlet valve 4318046. I would start with a test with my test meter. Pull the unit out from the wall and put your voltage meter across the water valve for the ice maker, (it will have a water line coming out of the bottom of it going up the the back wall outside of the ice maker location). Remove the white plastic cover on the ice maker. Jump the two terminals "T" and "H". This should be done with a piece of insulated wire to prevent electrical shock. The reason for this is to bypass the cycling thermostat in the ice maker so it will go through cycle. Now that is started, run around and watch the test meter. After about two minutes, there should be 120Vac show up on the contacts to the water valve. Be aware that the voltage will only be present for 7 seconds, so don't take your eyes off of the test meter. If you have voltage and the fill tube isn't clogged with ice, the water inlet valve requires replacement. If no voltage shows up, the ice maker motor module is the part to replace. Read More...

Philip A July 11, 2012 for Model Number RS22AQXMQ00 Ice maker is not dumping the ice. Recently purchased and installed part# W10190935 module. With water in the tray, the motor is turning at all times. Is this correct? Once the water is frozen, the motor is stalled, but you can see it is still trying to run. If I pour warm water in to slightly melt the cubes, the motor will restart & dump the cubes ok. Could it be an overfilling problem?

1 Answer Hello Mike. If the icemaker is overflowing and the only way to stop the water is turning it off, you may have a bad water valve on the unit. Test and see if there is power coming to the icemaker solenoid on the water valve. If there is power there, and the icemaker is not turning, replace the icemaker in the unit. Bryan June 23, 2012 Ice maker produces ice, fills hopper,however will not dispense when lever is pressed. No sounds of any kind.I'm thinking maybe the auger motor if there is one.

It makes ice and dispenses water, but when you try to get cubes or crushed ice from the dispenser, nothing comes out. I don't hear anything like ice is trying to come out. Carol June 03, 2012 for Model Number KSRS25QDWH03 The ice maker for the Kitchenaide Refrigerator has been making a noise as the ejector rotates to dump the ice. Now the ejector prongs rotate to appropriately 3/4 around and stop. You can hear like a clicking sound, the prongs are not moving. Using a blow dryer, melt the ice inside the maker some, then the prongs will move on down and push the ice out, but the process starts all over. Can I replace the motor or will I need to replace the whole ice maker???
