Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Ice Maker Control Module (Part Number: OEM13079091)

Zeb, Using an insulated jumper wire between terminals T @ H on the control module, you can get the icemaker to cycle. The first thing to look at though is there ice in the icemaker or is it empty. If empty check the fill tube to make sure that it is not frozen and if it is then the water valve would need to be replaced. If the fill tube is not frozen then cycle the icemaker and see if you get 120 Vac to the icemaker. If there is not 120 Vac then the control module will be the issue. If there is 120 Vac then the water valve would need to be replaced. If there is ice in the icemaker then remove the icemaker module and test the thermostat for continuity. If there is continuity then it would be good and no continuity would be a faulty thermostat. If the thermostat is good then the control module would be the most likely issue.

Cliff Colman for Model Number GS6SHAXLB02

No water is getting to the icemaker from the black tube coming from the top. The water supply is okay: the water solenoid is working , filter is clean, and cold water is being dispensed from the door dispenser at normal pressure. But nothing gets into the ice maker. If I add water to the ice maker by hand with a small cup, it freezes and cubes are ejected into the ice bin. To the best of my knowledge, the black tube is ice free; a wire can be inserted several inches into it past the freezer section. What needs to be fixed?

Cliff, You will want to test to see if there is 120 vac getting to the icemaker water valve when the unit is calling for water. If there is not then the icemaker would need to be replaced and if there is then the water valve would be the issue.

Martha, Try to add a little lubricant around the fill cup where the ice arm goes in. It may be hanging up there causing it to not drop back down. Also, make sure that the arm is in the back of the icemaker module all the way. If this does not work then it sounds like you may have gotten a bad module.

Andy, We would suggest removing the ice bucket and dumping the ice into a container while you check some things. When you remove the bucket did you find ice built up in the chute. If its ice cubes then maybe the dispenser door is not opening. If it is rhyme ice then you have an air leak in the flapper door. You can open the door and tape the light switch closed and depress the ice actuator paddle and see whats happening.Replace the bucket with no ice and see if the auger turns when you push the pad for ice.

Hello Ernie, several causes for this, check the ice maker is not overfilling dripping water into the ice cube bin, check the ice chute flapper is fully closing and sealing, check for any pinched wires at the bottom of the freezer door at the hinge.

J for Model Number W10377147

My ice machine all of a sudden quit producing ice. I opened up the ice maker module and to find that one of the clamps by the power board was fried. Making it unusable. The part number for the module I believe for the whirlpool is W10377147 REV E And the other number on the box is W10377151 Which one should I go off of that is a simple plug and play application when replacing the module. The ice maker assembly is W10509495. They don’t make it easy to locate parts for this model. Thank you.
