For Whirlpool Ice Maker Control Module (Part Number: OEM13079091)

Jaytea for Model Number Kenmore Elite 106.56696501

About 4 years ago I replaced the motor for the ice maker and that worked. It just stopped working again and I can tell that the motor needs to be replaced again because one of the bottom two contacts that the pins from the ice maker touch is burnt out. However, this time the circular plastic just around the pin is slightly warped. Does that mean I need to instead replace the entire ice maker assembly. Or should it still be fine with just the motor replacement. I have photos of both that will show exactly what I mean that I can send if I have an email address. Unless I can upload an image here or provide a link. Not sure how to upload an image here...

Rosie, With this issue it would be more likely that the icemaker is not leaking but would be that the drain on the freezer under the evaporator coil is frozen. You will want to check this and make sure that it is not frozen.

Joe, If you jumped the T to H terminals properly, and the motor did not start or run, you'll need to replace the control module. " Short T and H with an insulated piece of 14 gauge wire to run the motor(make sure the probes go into the test point 1/2"). If the motor doesn't run, replace the module assembly. If the motor runs, replace the bi metal thermostat. " Thanks,

Tom, A faulty water solenoid wouldn't keep the ice maker from cycling. Power(120 vac) to the ice maker is supplied through the I/R sensor control boards W11629974. When you open the freezer door, look at the LED on the control on the right side of the opening. It should be on solid or not illuminated if the system is off, or in a harvest mode. If the LED is flashing, press in on the cover on the left side of the freezer compartment, the LED should be on , if it continues to flash, the control has failed and you'll need to replace the W11629974 Ice Level Power Control Board Kit.
