1 Answer Hello Lenny. You will need to test for power to the auger motor WP2188242. If there is power there, and the motor does not turn, replace the motor. Also, make sure the coupling WPW10169511 is not stripped out in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Troy February 27, 2014 My whirlpool refridgerator icemaker quit making ice. If the water inlet valve was bad would you still get water to the water dispenser? If water can be dispensed at the dispenser does this mean the most likely problem with the icemaker be the control module?

Andy January 06, 2014 for Model Number gs5shaxnqoo Whirlpool ice maker works intermittently. Checked power between L and N. One time volts were 0. One time 55.6 and one time 120 v. Optical sensor check shows sensor is ok but does not read 120 v on black /w wire. 120v coming into optical sensor on black feed . I shut off optical sensor and now ice maker is working. I assume that the switch on the optical board is malfunctioning. Or am I missing something.

H.H. December 23, 2013 for Model Number sxd2252w The icemaker will cycle but will not fill with water. I blew out the supply line but it didn't help. Could this be the control module?
1 Answer Hello, This can be the fault of the contacts in the icemaker or the water inlet valve has failed. To check, force the icemaker to cycle by jumping the 120Vac from terminals T to H on the front of the icemaker control module. When the icemaker cycles around to the correct point of the cycle in about a minute or so, 120Vac should be read on the wires going to the water valve. You need to dis-connect the wire connector to the icemaker water valve and hook the volt meter up to the wires before cycling the icemaker and watch the meter for the voltage during the cycle. Be aware that the voltage will only be present for 7 to 8 seconds. If so, the issue is the water inlet valve WPW10245167. If not, the issue is in the icemaker assembly D7824706Q.
