Symptoms of a bad ice maker include:

  • Failure to produce ice cubes
  • Incorrect sized or shaped ice
  • Excessive noise during operation
  • Water in the freezer

This OEM replacement part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Hello Dennis, if you are having meter problems a quick test is at the double water valve switch the wires yellow and tan at the double water valve, then press for water dispense, (what you are doing is powering the ice maker fill valve with the water dispense wire) if you get water into the ice maker then the valve and tubing are ok , replace the ice maker at that point.

Mike, you can test the valve for 120v when calling for water. If the is no voltage replace the ice maker W10882923. If you have voltage check to see if water is passing through the valve check the lines for blockage (like ice buildup), if not replace the valve WPW10498990.

Harry, If water is leaking around the tubes going to the water valve then they are probably not inserted all the way. Push in really hard then pull back to make sure they are locked in.

JJ, Based on the information provided I would check the fill cup for obstructions and that it is in place in the fill cup. If this is all good then check for overfilling and if so replace the ice maker assembly. W10882923

Monte for Model Number WRX735S-DBMOO

My icemaker was working fine until I decided to put in a filter. I had been using the plug instead of a filter. Well, after I replaced the plug with the filter, there was a tapping noise, sort of like a woodpecker. Then my ice was all wet,and everything completely froze, including the icemaker and everything in the ice cube holder(box?). We could not get ice...just water. I took out the water filter and put the plug back in. It helped a little...we got some ice for a few hours, but the next morning there was water all over the floor in front of the fridge. Also, the tapping noise was gone after I replaced the filter with the plug. What part do I need? Valve? Icemaker? I need help!

Hello Monte, the bypass valve in the filter head is faulty, it is part of the filter head/chiller tank assembly part W11346622.
