Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Icemaker (Part Number: OEM18091938)

P Adams, to put the ice maker into a harvest test, the freezer door switch would need to be taped in the closed position. From there, a jumper wire would be needed to jump from pin T to pin H on the ice maker motor (cover would be removed). This will force the ice maker into a harvest mode (if the ice maker is receiving 120VAC) and the jumper wire would need to be removed once the rake arms reach the 6 o'clock position.

Michael, with the ice maker in a harvest cycle, test the ice maker control module from V to N for 120VAC. At the end of the harvest cycle, if 120VAC does not register, then the ice maker module 8201515 is not sending voltage to the valve.

Ron, With the ice maker not filling with water, you will want to put the icemaker into a diagnostic mode and see if there is power getting to the water valve. you will want to take off the cover of the ice maker and put a jumper wire between T and H and test for 120 Vac to the valve. If there is proper power to the valve then the valve will be an issue.

John, the bail arm does connect into the ice maker motor and activates a switch when it is placed in the up position. If the bail arm is not inserted properly, then the switch could be activated while the bail arm moves freely.

Radiocycle for Model Number Whirlpool W10469286 Icemaker

I would like to lower the water level in our icemaker, as many of the cubes come out with a 'bridge' between cubes. I've looked around the internet and this unit does NOT have the simple adjustment on it with the screw and the +/- sign. None of the makers I see on line are exactly like this one. I've resorted to pinching off the supply where there is a half-turn valve under the kitchen sink. I do think this will work if I can dial it in over time, but I would like to do the job the right way and I'm sure there must be an adj. on the unit. I see all of the electrical test points, but no clue about how to adjust the solenoid timer.

Radiocycle, If you were to remove the front cover of the icemaker there would be a plastic screw on the side that is for water adjustment. You will not want to turn the dial counter-clockwise to lessen the water flow but keep in mind do not turn it more than a 1/4 of a turn either direction.

Rob R. for Model Number KBFS20EVMS11

My ice maker stopped working. The model number label specifies the IC13B ice maker kit. The water dispenser was working. There was ice in the ice maker tray. I did a jumper wire test with the T and H holes and nothing powered up. No sound and the ice cubes did not eject. I jumped the V and L holes and heard the water line engaged and seemed to dispense water. Based on the results of the T and H jump I am thinking I need to replace W10884390 (AP6030643). Is this a reasonable diagnosis? This morning the plot thickened. Last night I completely removed the ice maker and did not put it back. The water dispenser was working last night but this morning it would not dispense water even though it did seem to call for water. Would disconnecting the ice maker also prevent the water dispenser from getting water or is this indicative of another problem? Thank you.

Hello Rob, on the ice maker if you are holding in the freezer door light/interlock switch and jumped T-H and are getting 120v at L-N then the ice maker is faulty ,replacement part is W10884390.

Hello Bob, insert a putty knife or flat screwdriver into the seam at the rear of the front cover and work it all around the seam till the cover comes free, it is just a pressed on cover.
