Tom July 13, 2020 for Model Number JFC2290VEM8 My original equipment ice maker is W10377152. Whirlpool seems to have discontinued selling this part and replaced it with W10884390 (AP6030643). However the motor cap on the replacement is taller and longer, making the unit too tall to mount properly in the freezer. Plus you cannot remove the motor cap/end cap to troubleshoot the unit. Is the original equipment ice maker still available?
1 Answer Tom, the manufacturer has made updates to the ice maker W1377152 and the most up to date revision of that ice maker is part number W10884390. As this is the case, the manufacturer no longer produces the earlier version. Read More...
P Adams May 08, 2020 for Model Number WRB322DMBW00 How do you put the icemaker (in the bottom freezer section) into diagnostic mode for testing?
1 Answer P Adams, to put the ice maker into a harvest test, the freezer door switch would need to be taped in the closed position. From there, a jumper wire would be needed to jump from pin T to pin H on the ice maker motor (cover would be removed). This will force the ice maker into a harvest mode (if the ice maker is receiving 120VAC) and the jumper wire would need to be removed once the rake arms reach the 6 o'clock position. Read More...

Michael March 13, 2020 for Model Number WRS325FDAB01 Ice maker not filling: I replaced the inlet valve and verified that the water line and ice maker lines energize. I checked the control module at T&H and verified that the gear rotates. There does not appear to be any ice dams at the fill tube at the top of the ice maker and I can't feel any either. I can't understand why it's not filling up when I let it cycle.
1 Answer Michael, with the ice maker in a harvest cycle, test the ice maker control module from V to N for 120VAC. At the end of the harvest cycle, if 120VAC does not register, then the ice maker module 8201515 is not sending voltage to the valve. Read More...
Kevin February 09, 2020 for Model Number 596.72003016 kenmore The ice maker will not stop producing ice. The bale arm is in off position and yet ice continues to be made. I replaced bale arm and it feels like it’s working properly but again in off position ice keeps being made. Is there something the bale arm is supposed to engage that it is not?
1 Answer Hello Kevin, the shut-off switch or linkage to it in the ice maker housing is faulty , the repair part will be an icemaker assembly, W10884390. Read More...
Ron February 01, 2020 for Model Number WRB322DMBW00 I just replaced my icemaker with this one, but it's not working. It isn't filling with water and not cycling. The bail is properly inserted and in the down position, A new water filter has been installed, and the water inlet isn't frozen. This icemaker seems totally dead. Do you know what else I can check?
1 Answer Ron, With the ice maker not filling with water, you will want to put the icemaker into a diagnostic mode and see if there is power getting to the water valve. you will want to take off the cover of the ice maker and put a jumper wire between T and H and test for 120 Vac to the valve. If there is proper power to the valve then the valve will be an issue. Read More...
John January 05, 2020 Unit #w10884390 installed, activated, filled with water 24 hrs no ice cubes. Moving bail feels like it is not hooked into anything. Is the bail hooked into anything like a switch? I did not receive instructions with the unit although replacing the unit was very easy.
1 Answer John, the bail arm does connect into the ice maker motor and activates a switch when it is placed in the up position. If the bail arm is not inserted properly, then the switch could be activated while the bail arm moves freely. Read More...
Radiocycle December 23, 2019 for Model Number Whirlpool W10469286 Icemaker I would like to lower the water level in our icemaker, as many of the cubes come out with a 'bridge' between cubes. I've looked around the internet and this unit does NOT have the simple adjustment on it with the screw and the +/- sign. None of the makers I see on line are exactly like this one. I've resorted to pinching off the supply where there is a half-turn valve under the kitchen sink. I do think this will work if I can dial it in over time, but I would like to do the job the right way and I'm sure there must be an adj. on the unit. I see all of the electrical test points, but no clue about how to adjust the solenoid timer.
1 Answer Radiocycle, If you were to remove the front cover of the icemaker there would be a plastic screw on the side that is for water adjustment. You will not want to turn the dial counter-clockwise to lessen the water flow but keep in mind do not turn it more than a 1/4 of a turn either direction. Read More...
