Hello Mike, you say you ran testing with no issues found. The tests as per tech technical datasheet would have been tests 45,57,36, and 56 . test 56 should have given you a fault if the ice maker was not getting cold enough, no water fill, not cold enough or ice maker internal failure. The only other test would have been test 15 for the ice bin optics.

Hello MIke, if the ref is unplugged any fault codes in test 56 would clear. Operational test 57 is enough to go by, faulty ice maker, replace the ice maker W11577195.

Joe, For this issue, the manufacturer suggests replacing this kit with two control boards. W10789393. Also, you will need to drop the ice maker assembly and remove all the screws going around the outside to make sure there is no ice built up inside. There are new seals for the rear of the ice maker depending on the color of your interior, W10612142 for white and W10648043 for gray.

Hello Bob, You should first check the temperature in the icemaker compartment. If it is not below 20°F the icemaker cycling thermostat will not cycle the icemaker. Since you described the issue where the ice begins to melt, it appears the freezer compartment is not maintaining a proper temperature. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Walter for Model Number Whirlpool WRX998SIBM01

Ice maker stopped making ice. Using code #56 I found out Error code 02, which means "Motor lost position". I performed test 59 "Ice Maker Motor". It went through without any problem - both directions. Made next test - 57 "Ice Maker Harvest". It went smoothly also - no error message "Not completed". So now, I am a little lost - because the ice maker still shows error code 02. Did I miss something or is there another test I can perform to determine my ice maker problem?

Hello Walter, If your model number is actually WRX988SIBM01, the fact that the icemaker tested okay shows there is most likely a programming issue with the control board W10807590.

Patrick for Model Number KRFF507HPS00

My Kitchenaid French Door KRFF507HPS00 refrigerator is making ice but the icemaker does not dump it into the container in the door so that it can be dispensed. I ran through all the ice maker tests and initially I would get an error code 02 on the diagnostic test 57. Consistently it pointed to the ice maker not being able to complete a harvest cycle to dump the ice. So I got a new ice maker and replaced it and get exactly the same thing, error code 02 on test 57. I also replace the front panel that conceals the ice maker as it looked like it had some kind of wire going around it so changed to make sure that wasn't it and it didn't make a difference. I am looking for any additional guidance as I'm not sure what it is. Also, I did remove the water filter and tried to let it go in bypass mode but same result. Water dispensing is working perfectly and is strong. Temperature in both top and bottom of refrigerator is at recommended Kitchenaid settings as well. Ideas?

Patrick, There is a emitter and receiver board on this unit that you will want to ensure that they are not defective. If they are bad they would not allow the icemaker to cycle which could cause the 02 in test 57.
