David, it could be the heater and can be verified by looking to see if the tubing has frozen water inside of it. Another thing you may want to test for is ensuring the ice level sensor is operating properly and that the ice maker is receiving the cold air necessary to properly operate.

Drew, a couple of checks to make first. Make sure the refrigerator is level in both directions, then check the ice maker for level. Ice makers aren't "sealed" units and can leak if water accumulates at one end or the other. Check the water supply pressure at the connection on the back of the refrigerator. Recommendations would be 32-35 PSI at the back of the refrigerator. Water pressure that's too high or too low can cause an issue. and make sure the refrigerator water supply isn't attached to a reverse osmosis filter system. If all's OK, then replace the ice maker.

Hello Sean. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power. Open both refrigerator compartment doors. Remove all items from top shelves and remove shelves. See Refrigerator Shelves for shelf installation and removal instructions. Remove ice box fascia using a flat blade screwdriver. Pull out bottom of fascia to disengage upper tabs. Locate water filter door, twist water filter counterclockwise to remove. Using a ¼” nut driver remove the two screws from under the water filter door. Starting from the ice box side, place a flat head screw driver between the water reservoir cover and refrigerator compartment liner creating enough room to place your hand between the two. Working from left to right, slide your hand between the water reservoir cover and refrigerator compartment liner to disengage the snaps. Disengage rear left snap. To remove the water reservoir cover, slide it forward and disconnect LED lighting connector. Disconnect electrical connections to ice box assembly. Disconnect ice maker fill tube from water valve. Locate the two ¼” screws attaching the ice box assembly and remove using ¼” nut driver while supporting ice maker. Drop down the front of the ice maker assembly and slide out to disengage the 2 tabs from the slots in the top of the cabinet. Remove ice box cover while guiding ice maker harness through slot in ice box cover. Remove ice maker fill tube by pushing into ice box cover and pulling through hole. Remove foam block. Lift out ice maker and disconnect the wire harness.

Hello David, This icemaker is used in multiple designs of refrigerators and has no issues of which we are aware other than the service bulletins put out by the manufacturer. Your technician should have pulled the service bulletins and installed the parts listed by the manufacturer as the correction for the issues. An authorized servicer should be able to address these issues for you. Since we are a parts distributor and not the manufacturer, all we can do in cases like this is to refer you to the manufacturer for corrective action. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.
