Jake July 06, 2011 for Model Number MDG7400WW Our dryer no longer puts out hot, or warm air. Last time this happened, it was the ignitor that was bad. I would like to replace this myself rather than paying for a service call. Is there anything else that could be causing our problem or is this the most logical thing to replace?
1 Answer Hi Jake. Yes this is the logical part to consider replacing. The ignitor part # is WP33002789. If the dryer still runs, then you should be ok. Getting to it is another thing to consider. Turn off the breaker. Access the ignitor by removing the front panel/ door assembly.Make sure you mark any wires you take off to insure proper hook up. Then the ignitor can be un bolted from the inside of the heater can. Make sure you do not handle the ignitor end itself, only the white bolted side. Hope this helps. Thank-you. Read More...
