1 Answer Hello Jennie. You will need to test the thermostats and the flame sensor and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter to see if it is good. If it is not glowing, test for power. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter for the testing procedures. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Brent January 05, 2014 for Model Number DV456GTHDSU/AA I can't find this Samsung Dryer model in the model look up. I'm in need of an igniter. I was told the samsung part no. is DC47-00022A but the 2 that I have found on your site, AP4042957 and 33002789, according to your site does not cross to fit my dryer. What is the correct igniter part number?
1 Answer Hello Brent. This is pulling up a Canadian model and we do not offer parts for these. Sorry. Read More...
Janell April 30, 2013 for Model Number MDG4000BWW If the first 2 digits in the serial number of the dryer is between 10 and 59 then you would use igniter part number 4391996. If the first 2 digits are 60 and higher then use igniter part number 33002789. The serial # for my dryer is 28790423YB. We replaced the igniter with one that looks like the one you are suggesting and it only lasted 1 week. Prior to that the one we pulled from our dryer looks more like the one for the 60 series...any thoughts as to why that would happen?
1 Answer Hello Janell. You may have bumped the igniter and weakened it when installing it. All igniters use 120 volts and should not burn up in 1 week unless it never cuts off or it is damaged. Read More...
Janell April 30, 2013 for Model Number MDG4000BWW There seems to be 2 different igniters for this dryer and I am trying to figure out which is needed.
1 Answer Janell, If the first 2 digits in the serial number of the dryer is between 10 and 59 then you would use igniter part number 4391996. If the first 2 digits are 60 and higher then use igniter part number WP33002789. Read More...
James March 24, 2013 for Model Number MLG2000AWW This is a follow up to a previous question i asked on here regarding my ignitor glowing red and will not ignite unless i blow on the ignitor to get the flame started. I did replace the ignitor as you instructed b/c you thought it may have had some cracks in it and the blowing allowed it to to get completley hot.. In any case i swapped out the old ignitor for a new ignitor and it seemed to work at the time of the swap out (i.e. it would ignite on its own without having to blow on it) and I tested this about 5 times to make sure and all seemed good. However the next night when we used the dryer I smelled gas again and it turns out its doing the same exact thing- glowing and no ignition unless i blow on it again! Im not sure if it could be the coils or the whole gas valve? Or something else? thanks in advance
1 Answer James, You will want to check your burner to make sure that it is not plugged or rusting. If it is then you will need to replace the burner. If the burner checks ok then you would want to change the coils on the gas valve. Read More...
Allene Q. October 24, 2012 for Model Number MCG8000AW I do not see this model on your list, but visually it appears to be a match. Could you please confirm, or direct me to the correct replacement? Thank you.

Ed November 30, 2011 for Model Number Maytag Neptune MDG21PDAWW Hi, my dryer stopped working, the clothing that was put in there was wet. After that it stopped working. The washer works properly but it won't heat up. I look inside and the pilot(ignitor) is off. When i start a cycle the drum spins, but nothing else happens. I don't see a spark or flame. Is the pilot (ignitor) supposed to be always on, or will only spark when the cycle is started. This a gas dryer. I am clueless as what could be the problem, but by reading at the previous posts i kind of have an idea now. I will appreciate any help on this matter. Regards. Ed.
1 Answer Ed, In fact, this is a commercial / coin op gas dryer. But like any gas dryer, you will need to check two components, based on your description, The gas valve ignitor WP33002789 if it is broken or cracked(usually a white colored spot) it will not glow and ignite the gas. And the Radiant/flame sensor WP338906 has to have a "closed" circuit, at room temperature, in order to complete the circuit and allow the power to the igniter, so it will glow and get hot enough to ignite the gas. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Craig July 21, 2011 for Model Number MGD7657BWW Our dryer wont get hot. I took the front panel off to investigate the problem, I checked the continuity in the igniter and also in the flame sensor finding none in both. I then checked the continuity in the high limit thermostat and the thermal fuse, they both appeared to be good. My next test might not be highly suggested, but I started the dryer to see what would happen. The igniter glowed for only a few seconds then sparked. After attempting the test again the igniter just sparked but didnt glow. Do I need to replace both the igniter and the flame sensor or should I start with just the igniter? Is it really possible that both could go out at the same time? Thanks for your time!
1 Answer Hello Craig. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the igniter WP33002789 and the flame sensor WP338906 will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ejner J. July 13, 2011 for Model Number MDG7400AWW The problem is that when we initially start the dryer, it heats for about 10 seconds then shuts down the flame. Per a suggestion read on your questions page, we jumped the high limit thermostat, and it ran for several minutes. So, we figured that was the problem and replaced the switch. However, the problem still exists. It will burn for about ten seconds then shut down. What else could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Ejner. You will need to test the flame sensor WP338906 and see if it is good. It should read closed for continuity. If it is good, you may have bad coils 279834 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Ejner J. July 11, 2011 for Model Number MDG7400AWW Following is a copy of the correspondence we had last week. I received the ignitor and was unpacking it and the ignitor portion broke into three pieces (darn) anyway. When we opened the dryer to install it, we put the old one back in to make sure that the igniter was the problem. It turns that it did turn on and the dryer started, but, it only heated about 10 seconds and then turned off. So, back to the internet! We found documentation about the high limit sensor. So, we jumped it and that works. It runs without turning off. So, I will order one and have my neighbor install it. Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Hello, you will want to look at the coil set 279834 as well. As long as your ignitor is glowing a bright red almost white color, it's good. Here is the heat sensor WP338906, thanks! Read More...
