This replacement igniter lights the gas burner in your range or wall oven, restoring reliable starts and consistent heat. Swap in a fresh igniter to resolve hard-to-light burners and no-heat situations so cooking cycles begin as they should. What it does:

  • Provides the ignition source to light the bake or broil burner flame
  • Helps ensure fast, consistent burner light-off at the start of a heat cycle
  • Common symptoms of failure: no ignition/no heat, delayed or intermittent ignition, repeated clicking without flame, or a gas odor before light-off
What's included:
  • 1 igniter assembly
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off the gas supply before servicing; allow the appliance to cool completely
  • Note wire connections and mounting orientation from the original part for correct reassembly
  • Handle the ceramic/element carefully to avoid damage
  • After installation, restore gas and power, then check for leaks with a soap solution

Bruce, To replace the pilot light on your thermador cooktop you will need to remove the burners from the unit and lift the unit out of installation. Once out you will remove the screws around the perimeter that hold the main top in place. Lift the main top off and you will have access to the pilot to change out.

Alejandro, Yes, the burner cone can be removed, but it's easier to remove the gas valve assembly. 1. Disconnect the unit from the power source. 2. Remove the front panel. 3. Turn the shut off valve to the "OFF" position to stop the flow of gas to the control valve. 4. Loosen the large brass union nut located directly below the gas control valve. 5. Remove the screw which attaches the gas control valve and burner bracket assembly to the front roller support leg. 6. Lift up slightly on the front of the assembly to disengage the burner bracket tabs from the support leg. 7. Withdraw the assembly from the front. Disconnect the wire harness and fully withdraw the assembly. You'll have access to everything associated with the gas valve and ignition procedure.

Rubelin for Model Number Maytag Dryer PYGT344AWW

My dryer has the vent assembly right in front and it is blocking the pulley assembly. How do I get in there to loosen the belt and remove the drum so I can access the heating tube? The dryer is not heating and I couldn't see any glow so I assumed the igniter was broken but is it more likely to be something else if we found a lot of burned lint inside?? I didn't know the lint could get inside the machine. I'll be opening it up and cleaning it out yearly from now on! Thanx!

Hello Rubelin. You can either remove the air duct, or reach around it and remove the belt from the pulley and remove the drum from the unit. The air duct is held on with screws.

Mike, To access the ignitor, unplug unit from wall. Using a putty knife push in on the spring clips that are located between the main top and the front panel. This will allow you to lift the top. With top lifted, disconnect the door switch and remove the 5/16" screw on either side of the front that holds it in place. Roll front panel forward and lift off. You may be able to access the ignitor at this point but if not then you will have to remove the bulkhead and the drum. To remove bulk head you will remove the 4 screws holding in place and lift off. To remove the drum you will first need to release the belt from the motor and idler pulley. Once removed you will lift drum out and you will have access to the ignitor. Reinstall in reverse.

Hi Deb, you need to find a valid model number and you will be able to see a parts breakdown on our website. There are a few things that could cause a GAS dryer to stop heating including the ignitor, gas coils, flame sensor or even a thermal fuse. It's also a good idea to check your venting to make sure there is no blockage. A blocked or restricted vent can cause the dryer to run too hot and cause a thermostat or fuse to fail. Here is a link with things to look for when a dryer isn't working. Hope this helps! http://www.appliancepartspros.com/repair-help/dryer-repair-help.html#gas

Rick, If the igniter is glowing and cycling off and on, but there is no flame, you're going to need the gas valve coils 279834, as long as you're sure you have gas supplied to the dryer. Good Luck and Thanks

Hi James. Check the coils 279834 and see if they test good. You can test the coils using a multi-meter MA-DM1. The two prong coil will read 1,000-1,300 ohms, and the three prong coil will read 1,300-1,400 ohms across prongs 1&2, and 500-600 ohms across prongs 1&3. On top of the blower hsg, there is a cycling thermostat part # WP31001088. Is the new igniter getting white hot? If the coils are old, they will open under demand. Consider replacing these if they dont ohm out as specified. The thermostats should read closed while cold. Thank you.
