Mike March 22, 2017 for Model Number MDB7759AWW3 I have a Maytag dishwasher MDB7759AWW3 which cleans fine and operates normally except for a high pitched whine noise that begins almost immediately after a wash cycle has started and continues for several minutes. It noise returns at various points throughout the cycle. Can you give me some idea what it could be and what parts might need to be replaced. Again, other than the noise, it works fine.

Paul January 27, 2017 for Model Number MDB4709AWS4 I just purchased a chopper assembly, seal kit and impeller.Put everything together and it looked fine but I started it up and it started leaking from where the volute goes into the housing. I am sure the seal kit was installed correctly. Could it be the rubber seal on the volute? From what I understand the seal is not available by itself. It does not seem to be very tight when the pump is turned and the bolt is in place.

Rebekah June 16, 2016 for Model Number 66516512200 My dishwasher has not been cleaning the dishes well for several weeks. About a week ago, it was making a loud humming/whining sound while running. I tried it a few days later and it has sounded ok so we have been using it, but many of the dishes, primarily top shelf, are not coming clean. We put a new chopper blade about 4 months ago, replacing one that was completely broken apart. I took the dishwasher apart today to see if there was something stuck and the screen of the chopper was completely plugged, mostly with a slimy, stringy lint and a few food particles. I cleaned it out and reinstalled, but when the chopper is on the shaft of the motor behind it, which is supposed to be turning the blade when it's operating, the chopper doesn't seem to be engaged on the shaft and turns without the shaft turning at the same time. The impeller shaft does turn when I move it by hand. Does this seem to point to the impeller being worn out and needing replacement with this kit?

Dave October 14, 2015 for Model Number Kenmore Elite 665.15959 I've become a whiz at cleaning the screen on the chopper assembly about once a month for several months. I'm pretty sure that the blades aren't being turned by the impeller. I can turn the black impeller shaft with my finger but the white cogs of the chopper assembly don't seem to reach or engage with it. Do I need a new chopper assembly with a stronger spring or are the cogs on the impeller shaft or the chopper assembly worn ? I can replace the chopper myself but I wouldn't attempt to replace the impeller. I don't want to spend too much for a repairman on a 13 year old machine, even though it has been no trouble until recently. Thanks
