It provides precise control over the temperature settings for cooking surfaces, ensuring optimal performance.

Causes of a bad infinite switch can include wear and tear from frequent use, electrical surges, or exposure to moisture and spills. These issues can affect the switch's ability to regulate the burner temperature effectively.

Symptoms of a bad infinite switch include:

  • One or both burners not heating up or heating inconsistently
  • Burners staying at a fixed heat level regardless of the setting
  • Difficulty in adjusting the burner temperature
  • The switch feeling loose, stuck, or unresponsive

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Dino, There is no JAS9800aab, we're going to need a proper model number to assist you with the wiring diagram. In the mean time, there should be no "extra blue wire that instructions don't mention" There should be No extra or left over wires, at all. Get us that model number so we can get your range wired up correctly and get you up and running. Thanks,

Hello Ken. The following is the instructions for your switch. 1. Double RED: N -> P2 (incoming power, Line 1) 2. Single RED: N -> 2 (to Inner AND Outer heating elements common wire) 3. Single BLK: L1 -> P1 (incoming power, Line 2) 4. Single TAN: H1 -> 4 (to the Inner heating element) 5. Single YEL: H2-> 4a (to the Inner heating element) 6. Single BLK: P -> S2 (to the R.F. indicator control light) 7. Attach jumper black wire (included with new switch) from P1 (P1 has two connectors close together) to S1. *On units with a compound connection, the two red wires must be separated. Locate the right front switch connection (L2). The red wire routed from the right rear element/switch will remain, but the red wire routed from the left rear element/switch must be disconnected, re-terminated and connected to position 2 on the new dual switch. *On units with an L2 piggyback connection, the two red wires must be separated. Locate the red wire routed to the L2 supply and connect it to position P2 on the new dual switch. Locate the red wire routed to the element and connect it to position 2 on the new dual switch. *On all other applications, the wire connected to the element should terminate to position 2 on the new dual switch.

Dux4all for Model Number JES9800AAB

I purchases a replacement infinite switch and received the 12002125. Like most of the other questions I'm concerned about proper wiring between two dramatically different (at labeled different) switches. I didn't see any direct solutions for this model. My wires are as described below. Please help redirect them to the proper switch contact on the replacement switch. Thanks, Single Black wire Double Red wires Single Blue wire Single Orange wire Single Tan wire Double Black wires. I appreciate any help. Thanks,

Hello Larry, We would be happy to research this for you if you could please post a new question with the model and serial numbers from the units' I.D. tag. This will enable us to look up the part numbers and wiring diagram so we will be able to provide you with accurate information for application on your specific appliance. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

JED8430ADB L2 has TWO red wires on ONE red connector. I believe this is a "piggyback". The L2 on my original switch has one wire that goes to supply and one wire that goes to the other switch on the right. The directions say to split the L2 and put the L2 from supply to P2 on new switch, and the red L2 from the element and put it on 2 on the new switch, but my L2 red wire doesn't go to an element, it goes to another switch. What do I do? Am I supposed to use the jumper that came with the new switch? My old switch has no such jumper. But the directions seem to indicate I'm supposed to use it.

Hello Jason, If you follow the instruction sheet, the new infinite switch should operate properly. I have looked up and studied the wiring diagram and the instruction sheet for the new switch and see no problem with the instructions given. You seem to have a grasp on the steps required to complete your repair.

Paul for Model Number SCE30600W

I used your instructions to other customers to wire my new Infinite switch (part # 12002125) to my dual burner and it now works properly. I wired; Dual Black to P1, Single Red to P2, Orange to 4a, Purple to 4, and short orange (burner "on" indicator light) from light to S2. *But the indicator light will not function. When I jump the next burner's indicator light wire to it, it illuminates when i turn the other burner on, so the light works as it has in the past. Any ideas why the indicator light won't work from the S2 terminal?

1 Answer

Hello Paul. It sounds like you need to check the wiring for the switch on that indicator light. If it worked for the other one, the switch is fine.

Steve for Model Number Jenn Air CCE3401

Hello: I have a Jenn Air model CCE3401. I ordered dual infinite switch # 12002125 for dual back burner. Instructions with the switch are vague and confusing, however, I found the answer to the wiring on this forum using the following: double red is separated. The red wire going to the element to number 2 of the new switch. The red hot wire (L2) to P2. The black wire to P1 on the new switch. The blue wire to number 4 on the switch. Violet to 4a on the switch. Orange to S2 on the new switch. Black jumper sent with the new switch connects to one end to the other P1 terminal then then the other end to S1 of the new switch. My problem is both element are on high; cannot control low to high range. Does this indicate that I wired red wires on my switch reverse?

1 Answer

Steve, It sounds as though you may have received a bad switch. You do have the switch wired properly and the switch being defective would be the only thing it could be.
