The Dispenser Overlay is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It is a component that covers and protects the control panel and buttons of the dispenser on the fridge. It provides a protective barrier against dust, moisture, and every day wear and tear, helping to maintain the appearance and functionality of the dispenser.

Causes of a damaged or worn-out dispenser overlay can include regular use over time, accidental spills or scratches, or exposure to harsh cleaning chemicals. These factors can lead to a faded or unreadable display, a sticky or unresponsive touchpad, or an unattractive appearance.

Symptoms of a bad dispenser overlay may include:

  • Faded or illegible display on the control panel
  • Unresponsive or sticky buttons on the dispenser
  • Visible damage, scratches, or discoloration on the overlay

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

Sue for Model Number Maytag # MZD2665HEQ

The water and ice dispenser buttons are pushed in and slightly cracked ...They ice dispenser button still functions but you have to hold the water button down in order to dispense water and the crushed ice button functions whenever it feels like it ...Ever since the water button cracked this is whats been happening ..Do you think replacing the cracked insert facade part # Ap4079284 will resolve this issue or do you think I'll need additional parts in order to function without having to hold down the water dispenser button in order to get water ?

Sue, You would want to change out the dispenser facade WP67004221 and the insert WP67004151. Behind the insert there are buttons that you are actually pushing on and these buttons can break. When they break it allows the insert to crack.
