Laurie J for Model Number Maytag Neptune MDG5500AWW

s/n: 71000174GX I have read through all previous questions. Apparently, I need a new LED Panel - My dryer's panel lights on left are on, those on right are not and dryer will not start. We wait 15 minutes, go press start, and it starts. Problem is intermittent. It's not thermal related, as I tried turning it on first thing this morning - same thing, it didn't start. I went in 20 minutes later, pushed start and it worked. Which part should I order? Thank you!

Laurie, You're pretty much on target, you'll need to replace the console assembly 22004444 (based on the model and serial number you supplied). The key pad circuits have started to deteriorate and will eventually affect all the key pads.

Eli for Model Number MDG5500AWW

I replaced the Control Panel on my Maytag Neptune Dryer MDG5500AWW because the person who came to see it told me the part needed to be replaced. So I bought the part and installed it myself. So I plug it in and turn it on to try it, and it did turn on and started to dry perfectly when suddenly after a short minute it turned off completely so I tried it again and exactly the same thing happened. There's no funny noises or codes showing up. So now I decided to stop and research myself before calling the technician again.

Hello Eli, Pull the tech sheet and follow the instruction on there for the diagnostic mode. This should give you the fault codes in there and point you to the area to look for the issue. If the unit will not go into the diagnostic mode, the control is assumed to be at fault.

Renalta, The issue with your unit sounds like either a stuck keypad or that the unit is in a demo mode. To remove from demo mode try pressing and holding the Air fluff and Sensor button.

R. Smith for Model Number MAYTAG MDE5500AYW

Serial # 42445120ZZ It's an 11 year old reliable Neptune dryer. However, I believe the control panel & associated circuit board have gone bad. Issues: Began chirping/beeping non stop all day all night long. Sometimes, you can push the start function button & nothing will happen. It lights up... LED's all light up, 48 minutes on the drying time signal, sensor drying, etc, all light up.. But no start function. If I switch off the circuit breaker & reset the dryer....sometimes it will work just fine, dries clothes, etc. Other times...no matter what function you push...it will not start. Nada. What parts do we need to order to make it last a few more years? Thank you.

Hello R. Smith. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control board is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.
