Ron November 11, 2013 for Model Number MDE5500AYW My maytag dryer is acting up. It will beep randomly like morse code when not running and the LED panel will freeze and none of the buttons will work. I have to unplug the dryer to shut it off. I removed the wired leads into the control boards and cleaned them. This allowed me to get the dryer working but it keeps happening. Is this a control board or LED panel issue? Thanks

June October 28, 2013 for Model Number Maytag Neptune Gas Dryer Model#MDG5500AWW Serial#: 63995572EG When I power up the dryer there is a chirp and the "start" button LED is blinking. So of the LED are lit, but the dryer does not respond to any key pressed on the board. The dryer can not be turned off by pressing the "off" button. I have switch the power off to turn it off. What is the likely problem and what parts do I need to replace.

Brysan B January 10, 2013 for Model Number MDE5500AYW I have to constantly press the start button for the dryer to start. Sometimes I also have to turn the dryer on/off from the electrical panel. Dryer chirps even when off. Also, when dryer is off most of the led lights are dim not completely off. After reading forums I have two parts in mind: the console assembly& the board itself. Linda September 25, 2011 for Model Number MDE550AYW s/n 36489825ZH Hi. My dryer turns itself on. It doesn't start to run, but the on light comes on and it starts beeping. There have been no codes appearing on the LED. If I push the off button, it will turn off and then turn on again itself. It also wants to stay on "sensor dry". I had a similar problem with the washer and it turned out to be the touchpad console since the control board had already been replaced. Wondering now if this is the same thing and do I need the touchpad console for the dryer?

Joe June 26, 2011 for Model Number MDE5500AYW The lights on the control panel of my Maytag Neptune Dryer will come on ONLY when I open the door. When I open the door they light up and the time displays 18 minutes, the start button is flashing, and the "wrinkle Release" button is lit. None of the buttons respond to pushing them. I replaced the circuit board a few years ago when I got an 8.8 code, so I am guessing it is not that. Can you help?

Nick May 09, 2011 for Model Number MDG5500AWW Hi, My Maytag gas dryer, Model MDG5500AWW has been coming on all by itself and beeping. I ran the membrane pad check and all the lights came on, but I also got an initial code of 8.8 when I entered this memberane pad check mode. As I toggled each light off, they all went off except the signal+ light, which when pressed changed the code to 8. and that light did not go off. The signal - button turned that light off. Also, when I did the diagnostic code check, I got a code of 8, even though I had previously gotten this code and cleared it in a prior check. Can you tell me if the the LED console assembly (cover with membrane pad integrated) or the control board is the problem? Thanks, Nick
